Bush Grammar Rodeo: "We take this responsibility serious"
Bush signs bill for U.S.-Mexico border fence
President calls it ‘an important step’; measure comes under criticism

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15424055/

WASHINGTON - President Bush signed a bill Thursday authorizing 700 miles of new fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border, hoping to give Republican candidates a pre-election platform for asserting they’re tough on illegal immigration.

“Unfortunately the United States has not been in complete control of its borders for decades and therefore illegal immigration has been on the rise,” Bush said at a signing ceremony.

“We have a responsibility to enforce our laws,” he said. “We have a responsibility to secure our borders. We take this responsibility serious.”

1. The words just kind of get
jumbled in the "matrix"

And I'm trying to figure out a matrix that says things are getting better. I think that one way to measure is less violence than before, I guess."

3. The contractors and the "base"...
...who see it as a sign of power and aggression. I guarantee that the freeps have a high-fiving thread going on right now to "celebrate" this token signing.

5. There can't be anyone is this country with a brainwave pattern
who thinks a 'fence' is the answer.

There needs to be something, some action needs to be taken. But a fence? Crap, unless that fence can move and has sensors to tell where someone's trying to sneak into the country, this is just a big damn waste of money.

7. a fence could conceivably save lives
if it blocks off the worst, deepest, dryest, hottest part of the desert along the border.

of course, i live near the canadian border & i've never seen the mexican border. so i'm just specalatin.

9. Who cares about adverbs when you a decisive and resolute leader
...with a lot of charm and the ability to give nicknames?

"Adverbs?" Sounds pretty namby-pamby to me!
