One more Republican w/ Family Values, Rep. Jim Gibbons
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 07:39 AM by Botany

"Do you want to f***?" or "Where did you park that truck?"

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2006-10-25-nevada-scandal_x.htm?csp=34

A Las Vegas cocktail waitress said Wednesday she was offered money to recant allegations that a Republican
congressman running for Nevada governor assaulted and propositioned her.

Less than two weeks before the Nov. 7 election, the alleged bribery attempt that Chrissy Mazzeo, 32,
described at a news conference reignited a sex-tinged controversy that Rep. Jim Gibbons says could
influence his tight contest with Democratic state Sen. Dina Titus.

Gibbons, 61, who is married, has denied the allegations.

Mazzeo, who is raising a 3-year-old daughter alone, made three 911 calls on Oct. 13, then told police that
Gibbons grabbed her arms in a parking garage, threw her against a wall and pressured her for sex after
drinking with her and four companions in a restaurant. Mazzeo said she cursed Gibbons and ran away.

A police report quotes Gibbons as saying he had grabbed the arm of the woman, who "might have been tipsy,"
to catch her from tripping and falling as he was helping her find her truck. Police reports say Gibbons and Mazzeo
said they had been drinking wine.

From Wiki
* Gibbons is a Latter-day Saint
* I learned an important lesson, never to offer a helping hand to anybody ever again." In regards to alleged
assault scandal in October of 2006.

1. Odd timing. This morning I'm reviewing records on a case
involving a sex offender who is denying his offense even now, after conviction and after having failed a polygraph (BTW I don't have much faith in polygraph data, but that's a topic for another day).

Anyway, asides aside, what struck me on reading this is how they all sound the same.

2. I almost feel sorry for him.
Was this a one time case? Was it just the wine that made him do it? (if he did do it @ all)
How is his marriage?

But if this was a dem this would be national news and Fox would be doing
a 1/2 hour show on it.

3. I'd love to see the security cameras
earlier reports had the woman saying, "check the cameras"

4. There are three things that don't show up on security camera tapes.

Ghosts, vampires & Republicans.

Well, sometimes ghosts do.
