VIDEO: A political ad where I used fellow DUer's idea for an ad
The idea was hatched here (thanks TOJ!):

I went ahead and made an ad here:
QuickTime

Realmedia

The music is from something I composed about PNAC. The photo is a recent one of Bush in a limo.

1. I liked it but you should make one correction
It's 9 trillion dollars DEBT. The deficit is just how much we go in the hole each year. Better to be accurate than lose the message because of a technicality.

2. I LOVED that music!

The ad was a little too wordy - edit it down to just 3 points and a counter point and it'll be more effective. Aesthetically, the jump cut of the photo going from zoomed to unzoomed is a little distracting. Also, position the text so that Bush's face isn't always covered up by it (that photo is powerful only if people can see it!)

I loved that music - you composed it? Amazing!

3. Cool. If you're in the market for more...
I think a good ad would use the ticking clock soundtrack and parody the style from the Republican Osama ad with captions like the following (the URLs are for sourcing purposes)

(Picture or vid of 1906 quake)

"The USGS has estimated a 62 percent chance of a magnitude 6.7 or larger earthquake in the Bay Area within the next 28 years" John Rundle, UC Davis

(Picture or vid of St. Helens eruption)

Mount St. Helens is acting up.

The Yellowstone National park supervolcano is bulging.

"We're not sure yet if this is a normal episode or not," Charles Wicks, USGS

(Picture of comet)

Every 62 million years or so there is a massive change to the earth.

The last one was about 65 million years ago.

"What we're seeing is a real and very strong signal that the history of life on our planet has been shaped by a 62 million year cycle" -- Richard Muller UC Berkeley

Will we be ready?

(fade in picture of Katrina Aftermath)

Or will we still be electing cronies?

These are the stakes.

Vote pro-science. Vote pro-people. Vote Democratic.
