Write to your right wing radio station to protest Limbaugh's stupid comment...
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 07:58 PM by Lefty48197
I think you've all heard by now about Limbaugh accusing Michael J. Fox of exaggerating his Parkinson's Syndrome symptoms in order to draw sympathy. Limbaugh and the other right wingers are pissed off because Fox (Michael J.) participated in a TV commercial in favor of Claire McCaskill, the Democratic candidate for Senator from Missouri.

It turns out that Parkinson's Syndrome doesn't cause the "shaky hands" that are associated with Parkinson's sufferers. It's the medication that causes the involuntary movements.

It's ironic that Limbaugh is criticizing somebody with an actual illness for trying to find a cure, when he himself is known for taking medication, for illnesses that don't even exist.

I wrote a short note to WJR 760 AM Detroit, the "Hate Voice of the Great Lakes", complaining about Limbaugh. Why do they carry his show? Why are they giving air time to this hypocrite? Is there nothing you Republicans won't do to help your candidates get elected?, I asked of WJR.

I think all of us should write to our local radio stations protesting their attacks on Michael J. Fox. They can cite all the disclaimers they want, but if they're going to carry Limbaugh's show, then their radio station should be held accountable for those words.

1. My local Hate Radio Station basks in the attention. Boycott advertisers
It's exactly what the stations crave - ratings.

Advertisers, on the other hand are more sensitive.

5. Very good point.
I work in radio and I can confirm this: advertisers hate controversy.

to tell them what specifically was the problem. You wouldn't want them to think you were writing about something you didn't hear. Afterall if you aren't a listener, they likely couldn't care less that you thought you heard or read about something that might have been incorrect.

And if you write the FCC, what are you going to say you are complaining about? Limbaugh may have said something that might have been incorrect? He's an entertainer and opinionist, not a newsperson. If I wrote to the FCC about all the mistakes I see on the nightly news every night, from the people that are supposed to have a clue about what they are talking about that's all I'ld ever do.
