I think you've all heard by now about Limbaugh accusing Michael J. Fox of exaggerating his Parkinson's Syndrome symptoms in order to draw sympathy. Limbaugh and the other right wingers are pissed off because Fox (Michael J.) participated in a TV commercial in favor of Claire McCaskill, the Democratic candidate for Senator from Missouri.
It turns out that Parkinson's Syndrome doesn't cause the "shaky hands" that are associated with Parkinson's sufferers. It's the medication that causes the involuntary movements.
It's ironic that Limbaugh is criticizing somebody with an actual illness for trying to find a cure, when he himself is known for taking medication, for illnesses that don't even exist.
I wrote a short note to WJR 760 AM Detroit, the "Hate Voice of the Great Lakes", complaining about Limbaugh. Why do they carry his show? Why are they giving air time to this hypocrite? Is there nothing you Republicans won't do to help your candidates get elected?, I asked of WJR.
I think all of us should write to our local radio stations protesting their attacks on Michael J. Fox. They can cite all the disclaimers they want, but if they're going to carry Limbaugh's show, then their radio station should be held accountable for those words.
