GOP Rep. pleads guilty but still won't give up his seat in Congress
Amazing. Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio has already pleaded guilty to bribery and other corruption charges related to the Jack Abramoff scandal, yet Ney refuses to resign his seat, and the GOP House leadership refuses to expel him. They claim they're waiting until they "return to Washington" to expel Ney, if he doesn't leave voluntarily. Coincidentally, Congress won't return to Washington until after the election. I'm sure they want that one vote, just in case any really important issues come up between now and election day.

Are they trying to protect the seat? Are they trying to protect their party's image?

Or are they just hoping to sweep another scandal under the rug, and hope that America doesn't find out just how corrupt they are, lest the voters decide to punish them for their ongoing indiscretions?

2. Apparently Ney needs money and wants to get his November and December
salaries. The "leadership" is letting him stay until early December. Its unbelievable.

4. Put it in an ad
"The GOP is so corrupt they refuse to expel a convicted felon in their ranks. Is partisan politics so important to them that they will keep a felon in office? Today's Republican party - where corruption is a virtue."

8. Such an ad would play great in Hastert's district, IMO
"Dennis Hastert knew for years that Mark Foley was having sex with teenage boys. He refused to expel or even reprimand Foley. Now he has a convicted felon from Ohio in his delegation. Again he refuses to take action. Why does Hastert let criminals serve in the GOP Congress?"
