Which Founder do the current Candidate resemble?
Howard Dean - John Adams (He was a true patriot and riled everyone up! He was the first to really fight for getting the Revolution going.)

Wesley Clark - George Washington (a General and a guy too honest for his own good)

John Edwards - Benjamin Franklin (The guy everyone likes and knows how to get along with everyone) The lawyer thing makes him a little like Jefferson as well.

Dennis Kucinich - James Madison - (Short but brilliant)

John Kerry - John Handcock (Seems flashy but really never did anything too original)

Al Sharpton - Samuel Adams (Both great to party with)

Carol Mosley Brown - Benjamin Franklin (She kind of looks like him)

George Bush - Wouldn't have been a founder more like John Calvin a fundamentalist nut-case.

1. If Lincoln is considered a Founder - John F. Kerry
If Kerry is elected prez, it'd be sweet if he grew a beard and wore a tophat!

2. I believe Howard Dean is more like Benjamin Franklin
You have posed a great question to ponder!

Ben Franklin was a staunch supporter of the middle class, he was a great orator, fought like hell for civil rights among the people, and was unbelievably kind to women. (Despite the rumors, he was an incredibly devoted husband.) In fact, there are those who argue that Franklin invented the concept of the middle class. And who can forget Franklin's incredibly astute observations of human nature.

Not only that, Franklin was capable of seeing beyond the horizon of the present tense, and had an instinctive grasp of the larger picture.

I'm not trying to be smart here, it's just that I've been recently reading a book about him, "One American Life," and it is fascinating.

Kerry wouldn't be like John Hancock, not at all. He would never stick his neck out and sign his name so boldly in contempt of King George. Eh?

4. Franklin was quite the womanizer
Maybe he was devoted to his wife, but more than one historian has jokingly called Franklin the real father of our country.

9. Was It Franklin Who Said
A well-informed citizenry would usually come to the right conclusion and make the right decision?

Whoever it was, that's the one Dean reminds me of.

11. I'll add one more book recommendation
Take a look at Benjamin Franklin's "The Art of Virtue". Benjamin Franklin should be an inspiration to us all. In some ways, he is the true embodiment of the American ideals.

6. Dennis Kucinich == Tom Paine
He's considered "too radical" by many of the "moderate" types, but he speaks his mind and stands up for his convictions, no matter how politically "unpopular" they seem.

My other pick would be
The Shrub == Benedict Arnold, but not nearly as intelligent.

7. Kucinich = Lincoln,
according to this article, (thanks for sending it my way, DR.!

http://belfast.villagesoup.com/Community/Story.cfm?StoryID=20545

<snip>

He's no rock star. About as pretty as Abe Lincoln, with his asymmetrical face, black hair and pale skin, he nonetheless inspires extraordinary admiration.

This is a great positive article for DK in Maine, btw, nice and long.

Which founder do I personally think Dennis resembles?

Thomas Paine comes to mind first. A man who never hesitated to speak out, and to act on, his convictions.

And then, John Adams. Diplomat and philosopher.

10. Kucinich is the opposite of James Madison in every way
Madison was a notorious aristocrat and elitist (even though he came from a quite humble background). Dennis represents the opposite of that. He's much more like Jefferson ideologically, or perhaps Sam Adams.
