To all the KUCINICH delegates and supporters -
I stood my ground at my caucus today, resulting in 1 delegate (me) for Kucinich. This was my first caucus so I didn't really know how it would all work. Had I known then what I know now, I would have gone armed with lots of DK information, and I am confident I could have gotten more votes for Dennis. In April, when we do this routine again I am going armed to the teeth. Those of you who have not voted yet - please learn from my mistakes and take literature with you! Those of you who are delegates and going to vote again - take literature with you! We have some undecideds, and there will, no doubt be some switching of votes going on. I, however, won't back down.

Well I won't back down, no I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won't back down

Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won't back down

Chorus
Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down

Well I know what's right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down
No, I won't back down

2. Thank you very much :)

My dad voted in the MI caucus today, for your other guy. He rolls his eyes at me (I can seriously hear him doing it long distance, over the phone! *L*) re: my Kucinich support.

That's what he GETS for raising a liberal daughter who thinks for herself. ;-)

6. Well I know what's right, I got just one life...

Come November 2004 I'm pulling every lever with a "D" next to it. I've never voted for a republican in my life, and since you and I are the same age Will, you know that's not a huge amount of elections so far - but I don't see my ideals changing.

In fact, I pulled my first "D" lever in 3rd grade during a class excercise in civics, for Carter! I never could get warm fuzzies over that "actor guy"... even though everything I heard from everyone around me at the time was that Reagan was GOD, and Carter had to go. I'll never forget how devastated I was when Reagan was elected - and all at the ripe old age of 8.

My opinion is that THIS is what the primaries are for. You vote with your heart for what you believe. In the general election, you hold your nose if you have to and vote for the person nominated by your party, as they inevitably match your views more closely than the other side. I voted this caucus for the guy that matches me BEST - in November, I'll vote for the guy that matches me better than Bush.
