Vermont ballot will say "Impeach Bush Now" on it!
I just got info that the independent candidate for Congress (to replace Bernie Sanders who is running for Senate) has managed to get the words "Impeach Bush Now" in the spot where it normally says the name of his party. I will read something like this:

DEMOCRAT (Peter Welch),
REPUBLICAN (Rainville)
IMPEACH BUSH NOW (Dennis Morrisseau)

you can check out his website: http://www.2ltmorrisseau.com/

Many candidates. I trust Vermonters are smart enough to figure this out.

10. in illinois
it was declared invalid by the rules committee. i believe the general assembly is still in recess. it was introduced right at the end of the last session.
IF it could be resurrected, and brought out of rules, it would still be sent to a substantive committee, probably executive. i have been told that house speaker mike madigan (crooked D) WILL NEVER allow this on the floor.

Vermont seems to be a state in which the idea of impeaching Bush might be popular enough that to have that on the ballot could cause a problem. At the same time, Vermonters also seem to be more politically intelligent than most and would know the "Nader effect" of not voting for Welch and thus ending up with the Republican. So I'm betting having "Impeach Bush Now" listed as the Independent's party won't cause too much havoc.

On EDIT: Welch, not Sanders...

6. Peter Welch (D) is an excellent candidate - Sanders has been
campaigning hard for Welch.

If this screws up Welch getting the House seat WE NEED - then Morrisseau can go FUCK HIMSELF.

This is NOT novelty time - this IS do-or-die time.

12. don't worry
I think Welch is looking good. IMHO it's important for independent candidates to be able to run and voice their opinions. Much of what Denny says is right on. And if there's funny business in the vote counting, you might be glad he's involved. Remember in the past we've had to rely on 3rd party candidates to ask for recounts.
