What have been some of your favorite lines
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 10:21 PM by kplongco
or slogans or whatever you want to call them from this campaign season, regardless of who said them?

My favorites so far:

  • You give me a shot at George W. Bush and I'll give you the White House.

  • We may be a little older and a little grayer, but we still know how to fight for our country.

  • Don't send them a message, send them a President.

What are some of your favorites?

3. Wes Clark - All Patriot, No Act.
That's pure brilliance.

I also like "Don't send them a message, send them a President." Is that Kerry's?

4. The dividing line is green...

Al Sharpton said something in an early debate that the Repubs are always trying to divide America by white, black, asian, etc., but the REAL division is by the color green.
Amen, brother. The rest of it is their diversion from the true goal.

8. This is my all time favorite:
"I don't believe it's patriotism, when you're president, to dress up in a flight suit and prance around on an aircraft carrier."

General Wesley Clark

9. Sharpton's
I have to paraphrase.

The election isn't about who you sleep with, but whether or not you wake up with a job.

At the VA JJ Dinner.

10. First and third you mentioned,
definitely.

I wonder if these will be remembered in the future, like how we remember "It's morning in America" or "Can't walk and chew gum at the same time." I suppose it depends on who's the nominee.

12. Wes Clark
"Nothing is more American; nothing is more patriotic than speaking out, questioning authority and holding your leaders accountable."

"You can always find a fight if you are looking for it. The challenge is to win the peace."

"Pragmatically, we’re the lone superpower, but we have to be careful: Power creates its own adversaries. We need to use our power in the most generous, constructive way, because our security depends on everyone else."

"America is suffering from a leadership deficit under George W. Bush."

"If we make room for everybody, there will be more room for everybody. An integrated America, where each and every American is treated with the same dignity and respect, is a better America for everyone."

"We need a President who protects the public's health, not polluters' pocketbooks. We need a President who will tell the truth to the American people about the risks posed by air pollution, not one who hides data and distorts the science. We need a President who understands that clean air and a healthy economy go hand in hand."

"To put it simply, presidents are public servants - they shouldn't be in government to serve themselves or narrow special interests. They should be open, honest, and up front with the public about everything possible - and especially about themselves. Because, when it comes down to it, true leaders shouldn't have anything to hide from the people who elect them."

"There really is one big issue you face in this party and in this country. What is the nature of the government we want?”
