Artur Davis (D-AL): "Jo Bonner (R-AL) is a friend of mine."

OK, this is 'hearsay', but I trust the source and this REALLY frosts my ass.

I got it from someone in Vivian Beckerle's campaign.
She's the Dem running against Jo Bonner in Alabama's 1st district (Mobile area).

I'm told that the only two Dem congressmen from Alabama, Artur Davis and Bud Cramer, both running unopposed, have big campaign war chests. They have $200,000 and "over a million" respectively in their campaign accounts. If they wanted to, they could send some of that cash Vivian's way.
For all the coverage she has gotten, and campaign she's been able to mount, she might as well put a paper bag over her head and run as "The Unknown Candidate".

Our little (100+ members) South Baldwin (county) Democrats club has raised $1000 for Vivian.
We've given similar donations to other local candidates.

Beckerle's campaign manager has begged them to help out with some ca$h.
Bonner has 'out-raised' her someting on the order of $100 to $1.
Nothing.

Artur Davis is reported to have said he is "good friends with Jo".

I just do not understand.
Are we really TRYING to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?
bastids

1. They need to hear from fellow Democrats.
If that's what they are.

4. People need to understand what the DLC people are advocating
Every time they spew their trash here. They are the corporatists buying their way into the Democratic Party & are snakes! Rahm & the gang are not our friends as the "brightline issues" the BC refers to are of importance to all in the working class. It pisses me off every time I see that DLC avatar here.

5. The Black Commentator is full of crap
It shouldn't be taken seriously. Unfortunately, it comes up all too often as a source on DU, but it has no credibility.

Anyone interested in getting a "Black" perspective on some of these issues should check out, among other things, Black Press USA, a compilation of more than 200 Black newspapers from across the country. They offer a broad range of views and don't pull any punches. The Black Commentator is crap.

6. Well, I am not black, but I read the source you mention.
I have seen excellent articles on both sites. I think it is totally unfair to say that about BC. No, it is not crap.
