"Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were in the front seat."
From Talking Points Memo:

TPM Reader RR on Iraq ...

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were in the front seat.

They drove the Iraq car off a cliff.

Then they turned to the Dems in the back seat.

And said the Dems couldn’t complain unless they could come up with a plan of their own.

The tragedy is that there is no rational hope for a plan (any plan) that will work well. When you’ve driven the car off the cliff, your range of options is quite limited. We’re in the hands of gravity at this point.

Pretty close to the mark. I've got my own analogy. Monday, after I sign back on.

1. whine whine whine

I have a plan, and this is just off the top of my head :

1. pass a resolution to put algae biofuels at the top of the national agenda and energy policy

then reexamine the landscape of geopolitics centered around widescale renewable clean energy

the name of the military game then becomes one of preserving regions of no-conflict and fixing failed states and global interdependence, instead of sowing regional instability where there are dwindling finite resources which society has become deliberately dependent upon, games of death that takes us all into needless cruel nightmares

2. arrange for a pan-arab provisional "peace force" to bring a hope of restored authority in Iraq, with US and UN troops on standby on bases

3. refocus on Afghanistan and disarmingg the 50,000 al qaeda that have been manipulated and used by who knows how many intelligence services and that are a pain for the whole middle east, especially Pakistan

4. renew Clinton-style diplomacy in Israel
