If the Repukes steal the elections again, will Dems kick down the rotten..
doors in D.C. with John Kerry leading the charge? If our political and opinion leaders can't get a spine this time, we are doomed. Still hoping it won't be necessary.

2. Not so long as the propaganda machine continues
to tell people that everything is just great. Spend your declining wages at WalMart, forget health insurance, there are emergency rooms. And remember, keep putting yourself in debt so that you too can emulate the 'typical' american life as seen on TV.

3. Of course not. They will "keep their powder dry" against a real crisis
And, as usual, collaborate in whatever fashion will allow them to keep their jobs and what remains of their power.

In other words, politics as usual.

6. Liberty! Equality! Fraternity!
Storm the Bastille!

Of course that means some of us could die. Some of us could suffer terrible pain. Some of us could lose whaterver fortune we have.

I'm not sure we are _really_ ready for that.

11. I don't think it requires bloodshed anymore.
I think there are ways that people could take control of the economy by turning the tables on the system that traps so many of us in debt-thralldom. Once you have the economy, everthing else falls. But I'm just a crackpot leftist. :-)

17. My life experience cautions otherwise...

I witnessed Chicago in 1968; I sat in stunned disbelief of the deaths at Kent State.

We've only seen minor scuffles and brutality against anti-Iraq demonstrations, but I know this nation.

Its leaders and government apparatus once fearful are extremely dangerous. I'm afraid cracking heads and even killing political opposition is well within its behavioral repertoire.

I don't think for a minute that Mayor Daily was more brutal or less constrained by belief than Richard Cheney.

19. You may be right about gov't retaliation. At that point, there is
nothing left to do but change tactics. But from the perspective of those seeking change, there is no reason a 'revolution' needs to be initiated by drawing blood.

8. Well, I'm hoping we're smarter than them..
Every precinct should be equipped with camera equipment, Dem Security guards,
*screened* dem volunteers and an entire system of making sure the machines are
working properly and there are witnesses there to verify the process is being
conducted with complete integrity, from the very beginning to the brutal end..

So, let them try to steal another election and haul their mangy asses into court
with the proof of the theft recorded and available in your own hands...

10. no. silly question.

People are still making money hand over fist in this country, even if it's all more or less borrowed from China. Creating a big stink about the "legitimacy of our democratic government" wouldn't be polite, would it, just because of some "election irregularities"? These are the people who fund the political system of our country. These people are overwhelmingly represented in higher elected office--indeed the US Senate was originally created just for them. These are the people who subscribe to news periodicals. These are the people who are shareholders in CNN-AOL-TimeWarner, ABC-Disney-CapitolCities, CBS-Westinghouse, NBC-GeneralElectric-Microsoft. They own the media and their extremely narrow point of view is all you'll see represented on 900 channels. As long as they're making money and their class' tax burden continually declines--and it could be on money made from child labor in S.E. Asia for all they care--they don't give a damn what the government does to other countries, other political parties, other classes of Americans, or to the Constitution. But if you do something to upset the people making money, by confronting them with questions about the legitimacy and justice of the system they're still getting rich by, just watch them call in the men with guns. Think this country would be different than Mexico or Chile? I don't. The system we have was designed from the start to prefer and protect the interests of the property accumulating elite. The Democrats look to these same people to fund their own party and campaigns--so upsetting these people, the people who count, is not in the behavioral repertoire of the modern Democratic Party.

If you're lucky you'll get a trial, but the new rule is that you don't have any guarantee of a trial.

12. Doubt it
It's obvious many of the Dems in congress have been compromised. It's going to come down to us. Will millions of ordinary citizens who are tired of the lies go into the streets and shut this country down to get a fair hearing?

The million dollar question...

15. Shouldn't there be some organization for this possibility now, rather...
than after the election?

If somebody somewhat well-known were to release a set of "ideas for the revolution" that everyone would execute upon certain circumstances, such as a clearly stolen election, that might do it. Such ideas might include mass economic boycotts, sit-ins, guerrilla protests, hacktivism, etc.

16. I've Been Saying For Such A LONG LONG Time Now, AND
my beliefs were AFFIRMED for me last night by Jonathan Turley when he appeared on Keith Olbermann's Show. He wanted to know exactly where's is the outrage from THE PEOPLE of the U.S. as The Idiot signed THAT bill into law yesterday?

Not only can we NOT depend on "our" leaders to call foul, we still have a MEDIA that is very very slow in actually realizing what has been going on, and then have taken only timid steps to report THE TRUTH!

Turley is so very correct in pointing out the total lack of outrage from "we the people" and while we sign petitions, write and/or call Congress, make phone calls, talk the talk of what we are losing, we have yet to become "Revolutionaries!" I can't tell you how many times I've been told that taking to streets won't work so I'm at a loss as to what really needs to be done.

I have considered myself an activist for many many years and have watched as America has been turned into some sort of "tyrannical rule" by those in power now, and who use FEAR at every turn to keep far too many others in line with their thinking. I'm so disgusted that I am ACTUALLY thinking of leaving this country after the elections as soon as I can get my monetary affairs in order. This coming from someone who has always felt that "action speaks louder than words" and have been in the trenches since Viet Nam. Our busy lives give way to a sense of APATHY for me and so I'm beginning to lose my urge to FIGHT.

I don't know why, and it happened so very long ago, but my first thoughts always go back to The Boston Tea Party, I suppose because it was effective and radical way back then. What is needed now is some sort of radical behavior on the part of "We The People" to rise up and state that this IS NOT an America we recognize anymore. I myself am willing to do whatever it takes by way of REAL ACTION to make this point. I sit here and blog and check web sites all the time and come back and blog some more... we MUST DO SOMETHING because even IF Dems win in November we have no guarantee that it will get fixed. Not only will they be faced with a MONUMENTAL task, of which I'm not sure they are capable of handling, they are going to be subject to tremendous backlash by those still in power, to silence their voices.

I wish we could find some way to get a group together besides the ACLU to organize some massive wave whereby the people of the U.S. can come together in a form of REVOLT against these people who are paving a path to ruin for the Unite States of America!

20. Surely you jest
They haven't even begun to take the matter seriously. It's like stealing candy from a baby. How naive to think the next elections won't be stolen when it's so easy for them to get away with it. The mainstream media ignores or sneers at the issue. And the Bush government absolutely cannot afford to let the Democrats get in. Look how much they have to hide. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. They will keep doing it as long as it works. I cannot believe anybody believes they won't steal this election. Question is will YOU make your Democratic politicians protest? What are YOU doing about it? Why on earth are American leftists so passive?

21. What about the states?

I don't think any one event will right this wrong. If the election gets stolen again why don't Dem governors shutdown the interstate highways? They can call up the national guard. Why don't states secede from the union? Combined with huge protests I think that would get the job done.
