3. Ken avoids heavy sentence, books out of the coutry, saves 44 million

4. Not "erased", just never entered
A conviction is not final until sentencing is completed. Since Lay died before his sentencing he was never "convicted" under the law. I know, I know, it's a shame because his family will get to keep the money, but that is the rule for everyone.
