Where do Dean supporters go if.....
he decides to drop out? Will they go to Kerry? Or Kucinich? Or Clark? Or will they be divided up equally?

4. I will go to Clark... but Dean probably won't drop out until...
...it doesn't really matter who we go to and the candidate has been annointed, etc.

5. I am voting for him in Ohio no matter what
after that, I will probably do nothing before the general. If it is competative in PA for some reason then I may work for a candidate.

8. I dont understand why the media drum call for him to drop out
when he is still getting more votes everywhere than Dennis or Al - I don't hear a chorus for them to get out before the convention. Theyre not getting that its the message not necessarily the one that ends up with the starring role. The one that ends up with the lead role does not run the country by himself. I would be perfectly content to have Dean in a supporting role - that way he could work on actual reform from within for this country. But to be considered for that position he must stay vocal until the convention.

12. I am going to Edwards
I live in Texas, and it is looking like Dean will not last that long, so I have been doing a lot of thinking on who my second choice will be. And finally, it is Edwards by default. I don't trust Kerry, and I don't trust Clark, so really Edwards is all I have. And even that will probably be nothing more than a pity vote, because I do not see anyone stopping Kerry at this point.

13. My fellow Deanies and I locally speaking
are planning to withdraw from the presidential race and focus on other political efforts. We are working on party building efforts and local parties who have a problem with that will be replaced. We are also working on state races and an overall change in the local parties.

It is time to change from the old guard to the new and we're going to make that happen. Too bad Kerry is the least inspiring of all candidates. He may be the lucky beneficiary of the sentiment against the boy king but he will not benefit from our organizing abilities. He'll get our votes but that's it.

I can tell you myself that I plan to be heavily sedated when I vote for him. I will be semi-conscious so I barely remember the dirty deed. It'll be easier to block out that way. :toast:

15. Speaking as another Dem committee member
I second Julie. If my vote is needed to dump * I will vote D in presidential race in the GE. And that will be given more than grudgingly if I do say so.

18. If everyone drops out but Clark, I'll go to Clark
Jeez, if national security is going to be a big issue, then the next level of debate will be morality appeal. Dean is a very strong family man. And just look at what the heavens have given us to work with: Kerry. The RW and the fundies will portray him as another loose Dem with a case of peckeritis. Doesn't matter if it was in his past. He doesn't make a strong case for family values.

That leaves Clark, with a sterling family image, and Edwards can be the V.P.

No offense, please, to Edwards supporters. I think all of America has gotten the memo by now
