5. Nailed it.
This cartoon is right on; Kerry (and Clark!) don't need to say anything, they can just stand there and Bush looks like a boob.

7. Sort of reminds me of the third Gore-Bush debate
When Gore went up to Bush and stared right at him like WTF? during a BS answer.

(I mean I don't know if that paper is conservative)

But I am loving this cartoon! Bush is the incredible shrinking pResident, and standing next to Kerry is just one way to prove it.

15. AZ Republic is fairly conservative, but Benson isn't.
Steve Benson, chief political cartoonist for the Arizona Republic, is usually pretty liberal. A member of the powerful LDS (aka Mormon) Benson family, he broke from the church several years ago with a public essay that pretty much nails his views. He pulls no punches.

The Republic also hosts liberal columnist E. J. Montini. He writes mostly on local AZ/Phoenix topics -- like the current trial of deposed Bishop Thomas O'Brien for his alleged hit-and-run killing of a Phoenix pedestrian -- but he's as good on his turf as the big folks (Krugman, Dionne, et alia) are on the national scene.

Tansy Gold, proud to be in the same state as Steve Benson, E.J. Montini, and Sue Dye.
