Dam My Brother Veterans are dumb
Today I needed a beer one of those days. I went to my local VFW club. About 40 vets there not one knew that their benefits were under attack. I pop open my lap top and showed the VA Watchdog.org. Brothers and Sisters we know have 40 more votes. But crap if this is all over the Country are my brothers dim. If you know a vet get him to go to http://vawatchdog.org We need to teach them crap!

1. Republicker Vets are the reason I don't volunteer at The VA Hospital
I don't think I would be able to maintain my composure in the face of pro-Bush vets who maintain that being fucked by the Republickers is just the most patriotic thing in the world.

Instead, I donate to Operation Helmet with the provision that my helmets not go to troops involved in detainee interrogation or security.

2. Thanks for the heads-up
I go to the Dallas VAMC and have been thinking about doing volunteer work there. It's an hour drive one-way for me, so I wasn't looking forward to that.

All of the doctors and nurses I've spoken with at the VA are absolutely against Bush. Sure makes check-ups so much more enjoyable as we discuss the horrors of this administration.

5. I want to puke when I see an Army star on a Bush-stickered car...
or a "Vietnam Veterans Against Kerry" sticker.

Seeing people like that poisons my soul against any notion of volunteering to help veterans.

Maybe they're a minority.

But all it takes is JUST ONE to send me over the edge, and the next thing you know, I'm hiring one of those fancy big-city lawyers to defend me.

10. Are all the patients there neo-cons?
Most of the vets I know are Democrats to be honest with you, though I know there are plenty on the other side. In a situation like that I'd just avoid politics with them.

The Operation Helmet thing is a good one though.

3. Good site, I expect to pass it around a lot
and yes, too many absorbed all the propaganda during their hitches and never managed to shake it off.

7. Well, a drop in or two couldn't hurt...
...and might help, H2S. If we all avoid talking to or encountering everyone we disagree with, there won't be many opportunities to spread the truth, will there? I'm guilty, too. There are places I don't go because they're so infested with GOPpie shillbots. But I gotta get out more, and I'm going to fire up my "Got Constitutional Rights?" t-shirt and circulate a bit.

determinedly,
Bright

8. i have been wearing my political t-shirts to some effect.
i went to pick up my mother at the airport last saturday and wore my 'nixon resigned' t-shirt. the nsa guy who waved me through the metal detector commented and agreed with it. i have found that wearing my politics can start conversations.
