Tweety, Tweety, Tweety: Hastert "has the look, a kind of nice cuddly look"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15291098/

MATTHEWS: “Newsweek‘s” Howard Fineman is an MSNBC political analyst and the “Wall Street Journal‘s” John Harwood is CNBC‘s chief Washington correspondent.

I‘m going to start with Howard in front of me here. Now Howard, this does seem to have many leaks. This story just keeps goes. I said a long time ago it‘s got more legs than a centipede. And it does. Jim Kolbe taking kids on a camping trip is now the stuff of an FBI investigation?

HOWARD FINEMAN, NEWSWEEK: It‘s remarkable, Chris, and what happens is here in Washington, storylines get developed and then anything that bears any relation to it gets dragged in.

So there are two or three story lines that the Republicans are dealing with now. One has to do with potentially inappropriate contact or advances to these pages. One has to do with the story of money and lobbyists, the Jack Abramoff line. A third has to do with a sense of obliviousness perhaps on the part of the leadership, the Republican leadership and whether that‘s emblematic of a larger lack of attention to business here in Washington. I mean, the way they‘re defending Speaker Hastert right now, and there‘s a strong defense of Speaker Hastert going on, is that he didn‘t know. It‘s like the guy in the old “Hogan‘s Heroes” thing.

MATTHEWS: Schultz?

FINEMAN: Yes, I knew nothing. I know nothing. If that‘s the best that Speaker Hastert can do, that may save him legally, but it doesn‘t help the Republicans politically.

MATTHEWS: He has the look, a kind of nice cuddly look, but the look of a person who doesn‘t know anything.

FINEMAN: He looks lost. He looks absolutely lost. has a press conference in front a graveyard one day. You know, he‘s got this thing with George Bush the next night. He looks kind of dizzy and out it and that is not helpful to a party that‘s been in power for six years that‘s trying to say we know how to run the government.

1. What is so odd....
is on his weekly show, at the end he had a very powerful and hard hitting segment hammering the republicans and left no doubt where he stood, but then on his daily show he acts a fluffer when it comes to his republican guests.

4. Just study a metronome...
...you know how it rhythmically goes "tick, tock, tick, tock, left, right, left, right?"

That's our boy Tweets. I laugh out loud when I see the "Tweety is on FIRE!" threads on DU. His GOP kneepads are always within reach. ALWAYS.

9. The pattern is to kiss GOP ass until they screw up, then rah rah for us...
...but only for a very very short time. He just likes kicking whoever he can when they're down. It's like he's just looking for something stupid or predictable to say. Come January he'll be back to cheering on the remaining Republican senators and talking about how "weak" the "Dems" are and how sexy and strong the president is.

12. I have NEVER ...
seen him say anything positive about the democrats ... NEVER ... At best it is condescending mentions ... The MSM NEVER breaks ranks on this crap ... It now has liscence to take shots at the GOP, but it still has a slant ...

Wolfie was interviewing Mehlmanl yesterday ... To his credit, he didn't let Mehlman spout his fast talking talking points until the end, and did hit him with a steady barrage of tough questions ... But, his tone was just different from when he talked to Howard Dean ... As always, you can feel a greater disdain for Dean, with an impartiality, at worst toward Melhman, and then ... The slips ... Almost a half dozen times he refered to sources as "GOOD conservatives" ... THAT is the meme ... Conservatives, good, liberals, disdain ...

8. Who wants to cuddle with Hastert?
Raise your hands!

What in the world is Matthews THINKING? Really. Matthews doesn't want to cuddle with Hastert. He wants YOU (the viewer) to want to see Hastert in such a way. He wants YOU to cuddle with Hastert.

No thanks, Chris. You go first.

...look through any of the recent Hardball transcripts and you'll see Tweety's spittle-stuttered proclamation that Ricky Man-On-Dog is the MAN.

I really do think that for Chris, the GOP is the equivalent of a Jeff Stryker film.
