Before viewing my humble graphic rendering of these lyrics, consider what others are doing with this classic anti-war tune on-line:
In a "new version," it appears the author lacks rhythm but still has plenty of heart.

sings the song but they can't quite offer COMPLETE lyrics. Oh, how this worm does turn (or is it spin?)...
http://www.catholicgarden.com/onetin.htmlListen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.
On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.
So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.
Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."
Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.
Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.
Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away. A Heart-Breaking Letter Sent to Cindy SheehanSubmitted by davidswanson on Tue, 2006-08-22 04:39. Cindy Sheehan
A former soldier
Dear Mrs. Sheehan,
My name is (withheld). I am retired from the U.S Army of 31/2 years, a full retirement with disability after being diagnosed with schizophrenia and depressive disorder.
First of all, let me start out by sending my deepest sympathies for the passing of your son Casey. I had never met him, but I know he is a hero, and a great American. I know nothing can bring him back, but he can live on in the spirit of the good people left in America.
Please let me have a moment of your time to tell you my story, Im sure you wont regret...
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/13923About Bush and his tactics, he doesnt want to admit he made a mistake. The Iraq invasion was a poor idea. Look how things are going now. Our four fathers to this country would be turning in their graves if they saw how things were being handled. Corruption has taken over this country, and Bush is the next bad world leader.
