Sen. Lieberman mum on how he'll vote for gov.
Now running independantly, won't promise support of Dem. candidate

Updated: 1 hour, 25 minutes ago

HARTFORD, Conn. - Sen. Joseph Lieberman, who lost Connecticut's Democratic primary and is running for re-election as an independent, won't say whether he supports the state's Democratic candidate for governor.

Lieberman told The Hartford Courant on Friday that his decision on whether to vote for Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell or Democratic New Haven Mayor John DeStefano will remain private.

<<snip>>

Tit for tat?
DeStefano has thrown his support behind Lieberman's Democratic opponent, Ned Lamont, in the Senate race. "Ned has brought an energy and commitment and he has earned my support," DeStefano said after Lamont won Connecticut's Democratic primary in August.

Lieberman has said he understands that his candidacy has put Democratic candidates in an awkward position, and has said he would stay out of their races.

Lieberman also declined to comment Friday on whether he thinks the nation would be better off with the Democrats in control of the House of Representatives. "I haven't thought about that enough to give an answer," Lieberman told The Courant.

8. Shlesinger is great!!!
He sound like a typical crazy republican. But that is what freepers like to hear. Ned needs at least some republicans to vote for Shlesinger. If 20 or 30% of republicans vote for him, Joe is a toast.

He is doing great showing who the real republican in the race is. We know Ned is the real democrat. Joe is a wanna be repuke and a wanna be democrat. He wants to have it both ways and will end losing the race!!!

12. No kidding.. Whatever happened to his spiel ??
He was going on and on about how he'd be an Independent by registration, but always a Democrat by heart.

Lieberman is losing his marbles..
