Some really pretty maps here, and reason for optimism
I have this polltracker website bookmarked as a favorite - it was pretty accurate for the Presidential election, calling OH a tossup.

3. Looks good
I'm just afraid of what Lieberman might do if he wins and it looks good for him. Do you think he could foul things up? Run as an Independant, then switch to Republican.

4. If this is correct, it is going to be a Dem Senate, because Ford is going

to win in Tennessee imo, and the VA race is virtually tied, so Webb still has a decent shot there.

On edit: I haven't given up on Arizona yet either. A strong Dem turnout combined with a weak Republican one could still tilt that one into the Dem column. Arizona has been showing signs of shifting blue in recent elections. It is hard to know how the immigration issue will play there. If there is a big backlash by Hispanic voters it could help Democrats.

Also, I think there is little chance that Steele is going to catch up with Cardin in Maryland. Democrats are motivated by antiwar fever and the possibility of taking back the governorship. Yes Steele talks about capturing a lot of the black vote in Prince George's County and Baltimore City, but imo it is not going to happen. Maryland black voters are just a bit more sophisticated than that and Kwaze Mfume is working hard for Cardin.

5. Joe Lieberman.
If that jerk wins and the senate is 50-50 or 51-49 he will be king of the senate.

10. Well, my take on that is FINE
After all, if we have 51 with Joe Lieberman, that means we get blamed for all inaction that takes place. I'd rather keep the blame with the republicans anyway. I certainly hope we don't pander to Joe.

Remember, Jim Jeffords only mattered until 2002 when republicans really took over. Lieberman will face the same thing after 08 when we achieve a true majority. Best yet, Conneticut will suffer for sending him in the first place. He will be a man without a caucus certainly after 08 if not after the 06 elections and just won't be able to bring much home to them. Dodd will get all credit for things going to the state and people will realize the folly of their ways.
