So the GOP is running attack ads against Zack Space....
Here in Cleveland....

The Cleveland area get's into about maybe 5-10% of Ney's district...

They are wasting their money on this...

The ad I saw tonight probably cost about 10-15k to run once...

If they keep running ads in the Cleveland market, they are just pissing it all away...

But perhaps that is all they can do...

You do know they purchase time ahead of the contest and that they need to save the Columbus Market to protect Price who is facing the toughest race of her career...

This tell's me that the only place they can afford to run against Zach is not in Zach's district...

And the irony is they are going after him for being successful...

Holy shit, the GOP has jumped the shark...

2. They don't have a choice....
they have to spend the money someplace...

If they don't use it, what good is it...

since the GOP, according to a post in Latest Breaking NEws, is pulling support from Dewine, they have no other choice...

5. So true. That is disgraceful.
They've lumped all those rural and small-town counties together, conveniently bypassing the heavily Democratic districts near Columbus and up north.

7. One thing you have to realize is that a great chunk of that area
is uninhabited...

There are national and state parks all over the place in South Eastern Ohio....

10. They have to put about 625k people in each district
so some of them are gonna look wild...

But you are right, they drew them for political purposes...

12. If they pulled in Columbus's eastern suburbs they'd pick up numbers
The only reason to pull in those rural southern and eastern counties is to build a guaranteed-Republican district.

Vinton County and the others down south, and those counties on Ohio's eastern border, have nothing in common with the counties around Mt. Vernon, Zanesville, and Newark. Those three cities are deep, deep red. Logically, some of Columbus's eastern suburbs would belong in that district, which would balance it more evenly between Democrats and Republicans. But nooooooo......gotta pull in every rural conservative county on the eastern side of Ohio, carefully avoiding every major city, no matter how weird it looks.

Purely gerrymandered. Disgraceful.

6. I have seen those ads
Two things.

1. They must be buying Cleveland to get to the people in tusc County. It might be the most populated county in the whole district.

2. The ads are not only expensive, but they are VERY weird. At least the one I saw. Had some weird maps with graphics talking about stuff I wasn't even sure made sense. I pay more attention to this political stuff then the average joe, and I wasn't sure what the slam even was.

13. Right about that
Tuscarawas is the most populous county in the district. Whoever carries Tusc has a good chance of carrying the election. Zack is a Tusc native and resident. Bankrupt Joy is not getting traction here except with the diehard Republicans; and a lot of them are having second thoughts. Joy will carry most of the less populated counties, that's why Tuscarawas is so important.

20. Money wasted
I read an article the other day about these atack ads. It was said there that the republican pollsters are privately very worried because no matter how much money they put in, the numbers just don't change. Neither they increase dem negatives, nor they increase republican positives. It is just as if there are no ads running at all.
