That should effectively destroy any attention Dean will get from 2nd place
In WA and/or MI

Coincidences, coincidences

2. This hurts the credibility of the Union
as much as it hurts Dean's credibility.

spineless.

4. Individuals and organizations should never endorse
if they're going to retract their endorsement after a few losses. How honorable is it to pile on when things are good, trying to get some of the sunshine--and a seat at the winner's table, then to back out during a rough spell. Disgusting. To me it reflects very poorly on the unions and individuals who bolt.

5. Many union members opposed the endorsement
which seemed to be driven by the union leaders, not rank and file. But once they made the endorsement, they should stick to it. This makes them look silly, not to mention impotent.

13. Call me cranky today.....
but I'm no big fan of unions. Or rather, the self-serving, weak dufuses who head them. Most of them are power hungry nimrods who never passed the tenth grade and whose only special talent was kissing up to management. (gosh, am I bitter or what?) ;)

They can take their endorsement and do something mighty special with it.

19. I agree... perhaps no endorsements for primaries..
That seems like a beter idea. It's too fluid, and can go too many different ways, quickly.

6. Did this come from the Union or unidentified sources?
FAUX might be just spinning. If it's true, it's sad that the other day they said they would take a wait and see in WI. :(

14. I am so confused
they've been some of the most dedicated people on the campaign. I didn't think that they'd be the kind of assholes that would drop someone in the middle of a race.

22. I somehow don't think that the rank and file members of the union
had much to do with it.

They worked hard for Dean and are probably not too pleased at this turn of events.

15. they should've either done it before today or waited until Monday
after ME. This stinks and I'd say that if it was any candidate. :(

21. If they waited this long they should have stuck by Dean
At least until Wisconsin, and certainly not now with WA predicted as one of Dean's better states. God I hate politics as usual sometimes. I support Clark, but this is low.

12. McEntee wants the union to go for Kerry,
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 06:32 PM by revcarol
but the membership want to VOTE for whom they want, AS PROMISED.

The membership is up in arms about their endorsing Dean in the first place.

Don't think they will sit calmly by while "the board" again rams another candidate down their throat.

Many want the labor guy who is REAL, Kucinich.

AFSCME NM put out a flyer that said Dean was the only Democrat who acts like a Democrat. Brought about a whole lot of ill-will towards the union.

18. P. S. did you find it suspicious that the only unions that endorsed
NAFTA supporter Dean were the unions whose jobs could not shipped overseas? SEIU(service workers) and AFSCME(public sector). Now AFSCME has un-endorsed Dean.Hmmmm..which NAFTA candidate will they pick next?

20. Yes....this is all over the airwaves. Big nail in Dean's Coffin which was
built the minute he ran. His coffin has been waiting for the body for the last 6 months or so......He just had to "scream" (rofl) before they drove a stake through his heart. Now the "union" did it. The Repugs must be rolling in clover laughing their asses off......

But, frankly.....I don't give a sh*t..I'm focused on REBUILDING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY! And, Dean/Kucinich have and WILL give us that chance, no matter what the "Whore Media" says.
