It's killing me. What is Rove's end game strategy?
I feel like a kid walking around junior high school knowing that the bully is looking for me. I might be able to avoid him for a few hours, but unfortunately I know that he'll see me before my last class, it's unavoidable, and it is at that time when he'll punch me in the kidney from behind. Even though I know it's going to happen, it'll still come as a horrible surprise. And it'll hurt. Bad.

If anyone here doesn't think Rove has something up his sleeve, you're crazy. What are we talking about? An attack on Iran? Another "foiled terrorist plot" by a few homeless guys with delusions of grandeur? How about another "American Al Qaeda" video? Remember that gem? Maybe we'll catch or kill the "No. 2 man at Al Qaeda" for the fourth or fifth time? Or will he simply rely on suppressing the votes?

Rove is a winner. And winners don't allow themselves to lose just because of a 4th quarter fumble. If this were football, Rove would block the last second field goal, inject the opposing team with AIDS, and then follow their coach home after the game and kill his entire family.

Call me a pessimist, but the anticipation is killing me.

the day Mark Foley resigned.

North Korea will be a memory again in a few days once the testimony of the pages becomes public and voluminous.

Foleygate.

2. Why be convinced that he's a winner? He's lost plenty of times.

The judicial race in Alabama in which religio-crazy Roy Moore won over Rove's candidate is a prime example. Of course, it taught Rove a powerful lesson -- that Republicans cannot ignore the religious right and should, in fact, coddle it, but it still proves the point that the man can be out-flanked.

He's a complete loser. Evil, but still a loser.

9. Ha. True. I might just be a victim of the Rove Mystique.
If you can convince your opponent that they are doomed to fail, then you've already won. Sun Tzu said something like that I believe.

4. Rove is Karl Marx
The ends justify the means ....

My guess is he is busy putting together a plausible story
on why the repugs won despite the awful poll #s and
then working in the background to make sure that
vote goes "his way."

Rove fun fact ... he ran Ashcroft's Gov's race in MO
African Americans and dead people voted for Ashcroft.

5. KKarl Rove's Endgame Strategy
Omen III: The Final Conflict
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Omen III: The Final Conflict is the third installment in a cycle of horror movies documenting the rise and eventual fall of the Antichrist. It follows The Omen and Damien: Omen II.

Released in 1981, the film charts the progress of the now-adult Damien Thorn to a position of earthly power (becoming United States ambassador to the United Kingdom with an eye on the U.S. Presidency) as a springboard for triggering the Apocalypse.

The movie was directed by Graham Baker. It stars Sam Neill as Thorn, with Lisa Harrow as journalist Kate Reynolds, and Rossano Brazzi as the priest Father DeCarlo, charged with the divine task of killing the Antichrist.

The movie tells two simultaneous stories: the rise of Thorn and his hold over his increasing flock of worshippers and the work of DeCarlo to kill him, set against the countdown to the Second Coming and the showdown between good and evil.

6. Resign? That's what good chess players do when they
know that, looking at the board, they've already lost a game to another good chess player.

But Rove *is* going up against the Democrats, here. I don't think he'll do that- he'll try to throw a curveball, cash in a bunch of media chips.

books - he taught the "Defense Against the Dark Arts" class, and repeatedly exhorted Harry and the rest of his students to keep their guard up at all times. "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!" was his clarion call. We'd do well to keep that in mind.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet. Neither has kkkarl.

I'd feel MUCH more comfortable if the Foley stuff started breaking two or three weeks later than it did. It was a setback kkkarl hadn't anticipated. But there's still plenty of time for him to do some awfully dirty dirty work.

The anticipation is getting to me, a little, too. Just keep reminding yourself - "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!" You're less apt to be taken by surprise that way, and more apt to be geared up to deal with it more effectively when it hits ya.

Just like the Warden in Shawshank Redemption.

Don't worry about Rove, there's nothing you can do about him anyway.

15. Some people felt the Osama Bin Laden Tape
Was the October surprise during the Bush/Kerry campaign.

I agree with the author. Be ever vigilant. I will never let my guard down concerning them. I'm looking for Rove to try something.

When the fundies try to say that Foley is our Oct. suprise I tell them that it would have happend a couple of weeks later if that was our intention.

13. Whatever it is Foley may have upset its timing.
Rove isn't really a player in the international cabal so it's more than likely he was cooking up something here at home. Being pressed into fire-fighting the Hastert scandal could have them pressed for time to pull it off.

14. Rove has messed up a lot, but his team is still in power. His Iraq "plan"
has been shown to be total screwup. His holier-than-thou/moral values "Christian voter" strategy is crumbling. His Korean "strategy" turned out wrong. Yes, he controls every thing and every decision made in the White House and nearly everything in congress, but that does not make him a genius.

20. I simply do not agree that Rove is a winner.
Winners do so with class. Rove has none.
Winners do so with integrity. Rove has none.
Winners don't cheat. He can't win without it.
Winners don't exhibit hubris. He is full of it.

Rove is many things--a winner is not one of them.

22. Marketing Genius
Rove built this entire administration on well packaged lies. However, he failed to anticipate their unadulterated incompetence. In others words, he started to believe his own BS. Every good con man knows when to leave town.
