Pentagon Scraps Internet Voting System
Fri Feb 6, 1:40 PM ET Add Elections - AP to My Yahoo!

By JOHN J. LUMPKIN, Associated Press Writer

Citing security concerns, the Pentagon (news - web sites) has canceled Internet voting that would have involved as many as 100,000 military and overseas citizens from seven states in November, a Defense Department official said Thursday.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=548&ncid=703&e=7&u=/ap/20040206/ap_on_el_ge/internet_voting

Michigan has Internet voting, too.

39. have fun
today should be easier on all of you since the states holding elections today are mostly contested by kerry, dean , and kucinich. so just relax and prepare for tuesday elections in tennessee and virginia where i expect clark to do well. he always seems to prove the media whores wrong such as when they said he would finish 5th in new hampshire but finished 3rd instead. and when they said he would lose oklahoma but ended up winning instead. so no matter what the media whores say just stay focused on supporting your candidate and keep proving them wrong.

Clark has been called dead since before NH. He is a long shot. The only chance is for him to beat expectations in the South, beat Edwards in the South, and then the media calls him Lazarus. Nothing has changed. I fully expected these results today.

105. I'm a bit disheartened...
as I know what the Clark people have done in Washington as part of the grassroots effort. I have never seen an Edwards supporter ever. I'm a bit bothered by the fact that he is doing so well, and made no effort at all in this state. But that's me.

You were up against 24hr/7 day TV pundits. When Clark campaigns he gets support, infortunately he couldn't spend time in Washington.

With press like this, when he get's any, it's fucking hopeless.

I wasn't even taking these two states seriously, but shit, it looks real bad folks.

AS a Dean supporter, I feel the Clark and Dean campaigns are very similiar. Stick by your candidate until the end. The grassroots movement is strong eventhough the media refuses to accept it.

74. I am now a Clark Delegate to the WA District/County Convention.
A little synopsis - I live in the 43rd legislative district and my precinct votes Democrat > 90% of the time. In my precinct we had 52 people for the caucus. In fact the turnout was great, about 50/people for each of the 13 precincts at our caucus site. The initial vote was as follows:

Kerry - 12
Dean - 12
Kucinich - 9
Clark - 3
Edwards - 2
Undecided - 14

I live in a decidedly hard left precinct where Kucinich would win if most people voted on their beliefs. The minimum requirement for viability with six delegates was 16% (or 9 people); at this point things didn't look good. Each of the five candidates were allowed to subcaucus and have a representative give a speech on behalf of their candidate (I did the one for Clark). After which everyone was allowed to change their votes. After consolidating the Edwards folks under the southern electability umbrella the final tally was as follows:

Kerry - 15
Dean - 14
Clark - 12
Kucinich - 11

Kerry and Dean got two delegates each while Clark and Kucinich got one each; so now I'm a delegate to the next level. Next stop, Boston:)

I don't care what anyone says, he is the only presidential candidate in the race. He is brilliant and he backs it up with sincerity and a great way of talking to people-he connects.

And, from a woman's point of view, he is easy on the eyes!

I just finished watching the whole thing on cspan about an hour and a half ago. He was fantastic. A head above the rest. The sincerity was beautiful, and the speech was the smoothest I've seen him make. He's a great candidate and America really needs him. I'm hoping I can send cash Monday when I have some money coming in. He deserves every bit of money and support we can give him. After all he's done for this country, I just can't stand the thought of him being let-down by this election.

There are TONS of dissatisfied folks here. There are young African Americans voting for the first time and they are PISSED OFF. There are gays here voting and they are PISSED OFF. There are folks out of work, veterans, yellow dog Democrats, and people who voted for bush and they are PISSED OFF.

110. AP projected Sharpton getting more delegates than Edwards, BTW.
That's with 542 of 590 precincts; although they didn't allocate 14 of them yet (See http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2004/primaries/by_state/MI_Page.html?SITE=YAHOOELN&SECTION=POLITICS#TOP)
So in MI, Edwards is 4th in the stat that really counts..
Anyway, good luck to Gen. Clark tommorow and on Tuesday.

Clark put no money into Washington. He didn't even have a headquarters really. Nothing. He could have done well in Eastern Washington around the Spokane area. But Clark spent no money.

I broke away from my computer, went and read awhile about Wes Clark and Kosovo, on and off pondered the J&J speech tonight, came back on just to say "G'night, Clarkies," and we have the best American president-in-waiting since JFK. There is no way we can let this man down, because in his decency, in his strength, in his will, he does not permit us to falter. He carries us and we carry him. I have never felt as sure of anything in my life.
