Guess what? Bush raised taxes!
The Repug mantra that the Democrats will raise your taxes is taken has gospel by their supporters.

However, look at Bush's record for the last 6 years. In 2001, gas was still down around $1.75 a gallon. This past summer prices across the country went to well over $3.25 a gallon. That's an increase of about $1.50 a gallon. Most of this money went to the giant oil companies who all showed record breaking profits.

Is this not an indirect form of taxation? Remember when we had a revolution over a similar issue?

BTW: Where does all this money go? Instead of being used for the public good, it is being stashed away in offshore accounts and Bush's friends live the highlife.

6. Also, property taxes
Even when they don't change the milage, they increase the property value. Then the local pols can claim they didn't raise taxes.

2. They sure as shit raised taxes for my children...maybe even my unborn
grandchildren. With falling median income and tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy it'll take longer then ever to pay off the mortgage the Bushites strapped onto the next generations.

5. Capitalisms exploitation and corruption at its very best
...I wish I had the link to that excellent Victorian style illustration I have seen posted on DU many times that shows the capitalist pyramid of the few at the top and the exploited masses at the bottom, it supports your point very nicely!

7. why say it myself when somebody has already said it better
Americablog's take on Jr. spewing that the Democrats will raise our taxes:

Aaaahhhhhhhhh, did I miss something here? Bush, the man who "discovered" billions that was non existent to fight his war of ego and convenience in Iraq, is telling people that it is the Democrats who are wild spenders? After six years of running roughshod over the budget and unloading billions onto future generations, this guy has the nerve to stand up in front of a crowd and complain about the spending of anyone else. If the GOP is looking for yet another example of why Americans believe that they are out of touch with reality, here it is.

Earth to planet George: you spend like a drunken sailor and we all know it. Time to come out of your bubble or fantasy world or wherever the hell it is that you are living. Please tell me how borrowing against the future and dumping a higher burden on the middle class, while cutting taxes for the wealthiest and giving corporate welfare is good for the total population? I see how is helps the Dick Cheney's and Bush family but most Americans are failing to see how it specifically helps them. Why does George Bush hate the American middle class?

8. Because Bush hates everybody
including himself.

He knows he's totally inadequate and would be living in a homeless shelter if it wasn't for his family name.
