INSTRUCTIONS

Please put the most important information from each update in the SUBJECT LINE of your post, so the returns are easy to follow. Include the two-letter state abbreviation, then the number of precincts reporting, followed by the first three or four candidates in order. Kinda like this:

6. Just a note on my methodology

I get the percentage values for my data by dividing the number of precincts by the number of total precincts - there aren't any secret numbers I'm looking at. :)

or all votes including those cast today at the caucus ? and why are these numbers coming in so early. especially since it's the west coast ? what were their voting times. i would think michigan numbers would come in before this.

can you give more details on it. such as how long it lasts ? i live in california and the caucus system is interesting to me. i would like to participate in it, but i think the state is too big for that. especially if you want the type where you can change your vote in the second round of voting and try to convince others to change as iowa did.

AP has more returns in nearly 50%. CNN only has 32%. CNN is behind the curve.

When both were at 23%, AP had DK at around 14%, Kerry at 43%, CNN has DK at 7% and Kerry at 50-something%. It's as if they moved some votes around.

I have to say I am surprised by the turnouts for Dean (who didn't even bother) and Kucinich, but it's good that one state is liberal enough to recognize the views of these people. If Edwards and Clark lose WA and MI tonight by these margins it can't make them look good regardless of their wins in their states last Tues.

I don't understand, after hearing scores of calls into the radio, and witnessing my own caucus, how Kerry came out so far ahead. The majority of metro caucuses were Dean first.

So I say nope, Seattle hasn't been counted. Not to say that CNN is wrong here, but I do think they're not making a wise choice calling it with only 30% reporting unless they have some major exit polling or something going on.

I fail to see how getting 7% (current number as this is written) can be great news for any candidate. Yes, if he is up from 1% or less in the previous primaries it is a slight improvement, but means nothing in the long run. It's a very tiny number of votes in a liberal state tailor- made for the candidate's views. We need a little realism at this point.

at the State level. National delegates are selected at the State convention later on. May 1st I believe.

Our PCO explained that the elected delegates (like me) can change their votes at the County and State caucuses, if they have to.

The results could dramatically change, especially since a candidate has to have at least 15% of the votes to earn a delegate in the next higher caucus.
