Kucinich: Bush Administration Must Stop Misleading American People
Kucinich: Bush Administration Must Stop Misleading American People About Iraq’s WMD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 7, 2004

The Dennis Kucinich for President campaign is demanding that the Bush administration remove information from its web site that has been proven to be completely false. The official web page for the White House, www.whitehouse.org, contains a page titled ‘Disarm Saddam Hussein.’ This page states that the nation of Iraq is currently in possession of, or is seeking possession of:

26,000 liters of anthrax;

38,000 liters of botulinum toxin;

500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agents - 500 tons amounts to 1,000,000 pounds;

Nearly 30,000 munitions to deliver these agents;

Al Qaeda connections to the Hussein regime;

Uranium from the nation of Niger for use in a nuclear weapons program.

The page in question is here:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/response/disarm.html

The Bush administration’s hand-picked weapons inspector, Dr. David Kay, has stated in testimony before the Senate that there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The data described above, especially the overwhelmingly debunked claim that Iraq was seeking uranium from Niger for a nuclear weapons program, does not belong on the official White House web site.

To this day, the Bush administration is pushing information on the threat posed by Saddam Hussein that has no basis in evidence. The data must be removed immediately, and the Bush administration must cease its continued attempts to mislead the American people.

2. Not until pigs fly will this Administration quit misleading the people:
they can't very well run on the destruction of: Iraq, the economy, the dollar, the stock markets, international treaties and international good will, the environment, the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds, et al ad nauseam, so what else would work? Just their goodness, wholesomeness, and reichousness?

3. Um, er, a question...
Isn't it better for the lies to be kept in public? You often note them in your talks and articles. Just wondering...

5. I wonder.
By calling for the removal of false information, Dennis:

1. Keeps the reality of false info on the front page;

2. Puts the administration in the position of removing false information, which is in itself an admission that the information given to the American public as a justification for spending our blood and our dollars was false, or leaving it in place, which means the white house stands by the claims that have been proved to be false.

3. Brings the name Kucinich into the conversation, making it more difficult for the media to "forget" to mention him.

Dennis never hesitates to expose the rotten underbelly of the bush administration. He doesn't mince around the habits, issues, and policies that are destroying our country and democratic principles.

He is a real, honest-to-goodness, flesh and blood champion of truth and justice. And he's a politician. A rare combination.

4. lol, never hurts in case someone comes looking for truth...
:eyes:

They leave the lies up because the media will not call them on it. ALso it doesn't hurt to mislead a few more peole here or there.

12. The front page is a battle of the rhetoric...
It's hard to keep real issues on the front page.
