Dean Supporters: Are you "Standing Up For Dean" Today In Neighborhood?
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 02:45 PM by KoKo01
We have an event here in Wake County, Raleigh across from our local mall at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, where we used to stand at "Honk for Peace" rallies this time last year. Maybe there's an event this afternoon near you. Click below to find out. :-)'s It's rolling across the country according to time zone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
February 7 is "Stand Up for Dean" on streetcorners anywhere across America!
------------------------------
Stand with thousands of other Americans in thousands of neighborhoods to show that the Dean grassroots are here to stay. On February 7th, Americans across the country will be standing on street corners, holding up signs that say "I am Howard Dean's Special Interest." Want to join? Sign up now.

Make history! Imagine this story in your local paper next week:

One neighborhood at a time, ordinary Americans stand up for Dean

Block by block, Dean supporters took to the streets yesterday. Ordinary Americans claimed thousands of street corners from Flagstaff to Austin, Green Bay to Miami, sprawling across America one neighborhood at a time, holding signs reading "I am Howard Dean's Special Interest." More than 300,000 Americans have donated $88 on average.

Stand Up For Howard Dean on Feb. 7th

2. Yep. 3 of us froze our butts off in Massachusetts.
I got news for you.

We got 3-4 times as many "thumbs up" for Dean as we
got "thumbs down" from Kerry supporters.

And this is in Kerry's home state, where the Dean organization
has essentially decided not to spend any money. We Dean
people are strictly on our own. But, I was encouraged by
the many people who honked yes to our signs at a busy
intersection.

3. 12 in Raleigh, NC.....freezing butts off. But, good connections made
there. We are very fragmented and I think, in some sense, on our own...but we got about 100 honks in 2 hours...still with all the colleges in my area it was disappointing. I remember when College kids were really active politically.....but this is NC...and I guess it was too cold today.

Still....as I said, some good connections for future political activities were made there...and who knows how good this was putting Dean's name in front of folks who just sit on couches accepting what media tells them..that Dean is Dead and Long Live Kerry.....:-(
