1. I'll say it again. Clark needs to play the AWOL card.
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 12:35 PM by gulliver
It would take nerve, and he would need to be very careful, but there is a play to be made there. Kerry is being too cautious on it, IMO.

If Clark did that, he would be a media darling again, and he wouldn't be getting pictures like the one in your link. The story line would be a fighting, accusatory line, and the pictures would change to support the line.

complaining about poor Clark coverage.

5. I agree about the picture.
How long did they have to search for it?

But, the substance of the article is interesting. They are actually covering Clark's comments about Kerry and Edwards and making K and E defend the charges. I, for one, am really grateful that this week they are covering Clark!

6. Yeah. It's virtually impossible to find a picture that makes this
gorgeous man look bad. Apparently CNN searched far and wide to produce one though. I will ALWAYS hate CNN.CON!

Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 12:54 PM by Closer
but you guys are getting a little carried away with the Clark, media coverage. It's bordering on paranoia. I know he's your guy and you pay close attention to how he's covered, but this is just getting ridiculous! What's wrong with that picture? He talking on the phone for god sake! He looks fine in that picture. I, and I'm sure all other non-obsessed Clark fans, didn't think anything of it.

Give it a rest. Stop complaining, and go work for your guy.

If ANY group has the right to complain about the media being biased, it's without a doubt Dean's group.

Just calm down.

9. poster, you have been 1 of the main people here that...
Slammed and Smeared Clark from the beginning. For you to chime in with" No Offense" then go onto to slam his supporters for calling things as they are is really something that wasn't unexpected!

You can now continue to show great pride in CMB buy out deal with your candidate at his supporters expense!

10. I think you're right.
No doubt the marginalization is and has been real, but complaining about it just feeds them.

They don't want people to notice their "work", but I think they get a secret thrill and encouragement when they hear from outraged Clark supporters.

Time to take it directly to the voters, one on one.

16. No, it's not such a bad thing.
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 01:14 PM by dralston
The question is, however, is it such a good thing?

Don't get me wrong. The marginalization of the Clark campaign is real.

I appreciate efforts to document it.

But contacting the media about it is pointless. It reminds me of Dean contacting Terry M. to say "make the others back off". We reach a point where it seems like we're whiny.

The media is doing what it's masters have told it to do. I prefer we move on to the next voter.

17. Where did I say "contact the media"
Pointing out to others what we know to be true and current is the very best we can do to make others aware.

They show Kerry, Dean as dapper as possible and Clark as if he is shitting prune pits. I will concede Edwards isn't shown in the best of light either!

18. Kerry's the only good pic.
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 01:19 PM by dralston
He looks like he's doing a James Bond impersonation. Look at his brows.

Dean's got the fish-mouth going, Edwards is fatigued (similar to bong hit) and Clark is about to pull off his rubber mask to reveal he's really Hillary afterall. LOL!

20. Yes, well, whatever
It's too late to start getting our panties in a bunch over CNN and the pics they choose, imo. We have to take direct action, we can't get diverted with CNN and their bs.

Get on the phone and call VA and TN and write letters and do whatever. We have to win, now.

22. I wrote a letter in response
Here is what I said:

Thank you for starting to give Gen. Clark actually good coverage on your website! Now what myself as well as millions of other Americans would like to see is that you follow through with that on your TV NETWORK!!! Wesley Clark, despite the lack of coverage you people have been giving him, placed 3rd in New Hampshire, the FIRST ELECTION HE RAN IN IN HIS LIFE, then went on to win Oklahoma against a man who had been campaigning there for over a year and placed second in North Dakota, Arizona, and New Mexico. He deserves FAR more coverage than he has been getting, not to mention his most impressive policy stances and his resume. Give Clark a fair chance, wake up to the fact that this is a three-way race now, not just Edwards vs Kerry.

Thank you,

Ryan Smith

I said it was positive, which it can be said it is.
