"FAT HASTERT" desperate, blames ABC, Soros and Clinton!! NBC5 VIDEO!!!
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 06:33 AM by wndycty
Local news in Chicago is literally camped outside of his house. I'm trying to grab some video and get it up on YouTube, this shit is comical. "Fat Hastert" (think "Austin Powers") is in trouble, it is too damned funny.

HERE IS THE NBC5 REPORT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg9oWFCMS1M (just uploaded, give it a few minutes to become live).

UPDATE: Just grabbed video, may have it up in this thread later or my start new thread. NBC5 is reporting that "Fat Hastert" has not left his house in 24 hours and there is so much media camped outside of his house that they are on BOTH sides of the street.

UPDATE II: NBC5 just asked in a tease, "will he come out (of his house) today?"

Hastert dodges Foley heat, denies report of repeated warnings

By Rick Pearson and Mike Dorning
Tribune staff reporters
Published October 4, 2006, 10:26 PM CDT

WASHINGTON -- A defiant House Speaker Dennis Hastert fought Wednesday to hold on to his leadership post while fractures appeared among his lieutenants and a former senior aide to Mark Foley said he repeatedly had warned Hastert's top aide about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward underage pages more than two years ago.

In an interview with the Tribune on Wednesday night, Hastert said that he had no thoughts of resigning and he blamed ABC News and Democratic operatives for the mushrooming scandal that threatens his tenure as speaker and Republicans' hold on power in the House.

"No. Look, I've talked to our members," Hastert said. "Our members are supportive. I think that is exactly what our opponents would like to have happen—that I'd fold my tent and others would fold our tent and they would sweep the House."

When asked about a groundswell of discontent among the GOP's conservative base over his handling of the issue, Hastert said: "I think the base has to realize after awhile, who knew about it? Who knew what, when? When the base finds out who's feeding this monster, they're not going to be happy. The people who want to see this thing blow up are ABC News and a lot of Democratic operatives, people funded by George Soros."

He went on to suggest that operatives aligned with former President Bill Clinton knew about the allegations and were perhaps behind the disclosures in the closing weeks before the Nov. 7 midterm elections, but he offered no hard proof.

"All I know is what I hear and what I see," the speaker said. "I saw Bill Clinton's adviser, Richard Morris, was saying these guys knew about this all along. If somebody had this info, when they had it, we could have dealt with it then."

Hastert, just like all the Pubs in power positions, thought they were invincible and providentally-protected by that Big Bush in the Sky (the one called by God to be pResident).

14. Have Clinton and Morris even spoken to each other since the toe
sucking incident?

Dick Morris. Gee, I remember him being one of those who came out right after the 9/11 incident and said that we should go on to bomb Libya and Syria. Maybe he was alluding to the Comma Wars?

15. Sometimes people in desperate circumstances can tell you more truth
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 08:14 AM by Peace Patriot
than you want to know, or than even they themselves understand.

It appears that the fascist 'christian' right has done itself in, as they have always tended to do. McCarthyism and every form of bigotry, witch-hunting, inquisition and "baptism by the sword" of any kind in our society has always revealed its unreason, and its underlying ill motives, filth, corruption or insanity, given time, no matter how powerful it seems to be. Thomas Jefferson designed our society that way--with lot of checks and balances, among them, votes of the people and free speech--to be able to ferret out demagoguery and hypocrisy, and to prevent tyranny. The current lot of liars, torturers, mass murderers, spies and war profiteers has tested Jefferson's scheme to the breaking point. And it's not over yet. But this time around--the '06 elections--so many people, ordinary people and leaders of various kinds, are onto this Junta that I think they may at last meet their Waterloo, despite their corporate buds controlling the voting system.

I am speaking of a deeper truth--and not a very pleasant one--that Hastert, in his desperation, might be pointing us to. And it is this: the odd--nay, mind-boggling--silence of the Democratic Party leadership on Diebold/ES&S "counting" all our votes with "trade secret," proprietary programming code, code so secret that not even our Secretaries of State are permitted to review it. And not just Bush, and not just Bush's "pod people" in Congress, but all of Congress--and all of the governorships and state legislators--were (s)elected by Diebold/ES&S. Some of the Democrats (and maybe a rare Republican or two) would have been elected anyway. But MOST of the people holding public office owe their office and their power to elections that were "counted" in SECRET by rightwing corporations. They no longer owe their office and their power to we, the people. We, the people, are NOT PERMITTED to know how our votes are being "counted."

Let me back up for a moment, to the time just before all this happened (the Bush Junta). To 1999. To Seattle. 50,000 people in the streets--workers, labor unions, human rights groups, environmental groups, religious groups, a wide spectrum of Americans--protesting Bill Clinton's "global free piracy" policies and shutting down the World Trade Organization, in alliance with the third world countries who were being so harmed by these policies. We hadn't seen the impacts in the U.S. yet, but they were coming. Sweatshop labor proliferating around the globe; outsourcing here, massive loss of good jobs, benefits and labor protections. Devastation of the world's natural resources; weakening of environmental protections here and around the world. Global warming. Clinton had promised labor and environmental protections in NAFTA. He reneged on that promise. In a way, direct corporate control over our elections, with "trade secret" programming, is a logical outgrowth of corporate rule over "trade" policy, job conditions and the environment. And what fascist corporate schemes to punish us, to subdue us, and disempower us--we, the American people--might have resulted from that awesome revolt in Seattle? (--an entirely peaceful, and incredibly successful protest until the police riot, later disclosed in local Seattle hearings, with no followup, of course, in the corporate news monopolies).

So here's what I'm thinking: If the American people are going to revolt against global corporate predators, the thing to do is hit 'em with in-your-face fascism--George Bush, Enron (theft of $9 billion from the people of California), illegal war, mass murder on a Hitlerian scale, torture, spying, a $10 TRILLION deficit, multiple tax cuts for the super-rich, dismantling of the EPA, billions of dollars "lost" in Iraq, the vice president's own company cleaning up, with no accountability, bankruptcy for the little people, bailouts for the billionaires, spitting on the UN, re-hiring the Reagan "death squad" crew, massive bribery, pedophilia, religious hypocrisy, gas gouging, looting of government pension and the Social Security funds, dismantling of national emergency services, murderous neglect of the poor, and a rot in DC so smelly you can't go near the place without wearing a gas mask.

Then we will welcome the Corporatists as our saviors, and shut the fuck up about the WTO, and take our tiny little minimum wage increases and be grateful, and even celebrate the defeat of fascism in our land--even as it takes a firmer but subtler grip upon us.

Diebold/ES&S (s)elected the Bushite Democrats who joined with the Bushite "pod people" in Congress to legalize torture, and the suspension of habeas corpus, in this once great democracy-- a democracy that was literally founded on the right of habeas corpus. And they can also (s)elect whomever these new "robber barons" decide to install next, to preside over our bankrupt future, to "occupy" the Mideast oil fields, and to, finally, once and for all, rip up the Constitution of the United States, and replace it with the Rule of the Global Corporate Predators.

Soros? I don't know if he would go along with this. Clinton? Dick Morris? They already have. As have MOST of our Democratic leaders. Bear in mind, in particular, their MIND-BOGGLING SILENCE about Bushite corporations "counting" all the votes with "trade secret" programming code. This has baffled me for two years now. What the hell is going on with these people? Are they crazy? No, they're Corporatists. They believe in privazation of everything, even of vote counting. It is not odd, to them, to have corporations controlling the vote (--as odd as it may seem to us, and to other objective parties.) So, is this Republican pedophile scandal orchestrated by...ahem...the "left" (corporate predator politicians, disguised as "liberals")? I'm not saying that putrid Bushite corruption is not real--in this case (molestation of the teenagers working in the Capital), and throughout the government, from the top down, in every sphere. It's very real. I'm just saying that maybe Hastert doesn't really understand why it has been tolerated--by the corporate news monopolies and by the Democrats--and has NOT been exposed until now. That seems to be at the heart of his complaint. Why now? He flusters around with this--saying things like, 'they had this info for a long time, NOW they're using it?'. He seems genuinely bewildered. An utter hypocrite, of course. But I think he is nevertheless truly puzzled. ABC?! But they...but they....they just kissed our butts with their 9/11 fantasy!!! The Washington Post? The New York Times? But they were our best propagandists until now! They printed whatever crap we put out there, as if it were God's own truth! How can they be "witch-hunting" ME?! I'm a BUSHITE! (Howl, howl, howl....)

IF my little scenario is true--1. Hit 'em with fascism. 2. Fall back to corporatism.--then Denny Hastert's bewilderment makes sense. The fascist tools have to be cleaned out, so the global corporate predators can finish looting their "golden goose" (us) and get on with their other earth-killing projects, such as China. Think of all those tankers steaming around the world, taking global warming fuels from Exxon/Chevron-controlled oil fields in Iran and Iraq, to feed China's insatiable growth, and bringing their sweatshop-produced trinkets back here, to suck up our minimum wages, and to other countries-ful of patsies! --with spying, torture and suspension of habeas corpus held in reserve, in case we get uppity about it again. Those Darth Vader police forces that we faced in Seattle may the least of what we have to face, under a Corporate Democratic administration, for which the Bush Junta has paved the way.

18. Throw Diebold and all election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW!
Bust the Machines--Vote by Absentee Ballot this November!

If enough people do it--if everyone who despises the Bush Junta--60% to 70% of the American people--vote by Absentee Ballot, the reign of these diabolical machines will be OVER!

I don't at all mind seeing a rightwing fascist Bushite meltdown. It can only warm the heart of this 40-year loyal Democratic Party supporter, activist and voter! However, I am an FDR Democrat, not a Clinton Democrat. I BELIEVE that government is the WEAPON of THE PEOPLE--the workers, the poor, minorities, the elderly, students, children--AGAINST the corporate robber barons. I do NOT believe in "small government." You can't have "small government" and BIG corporations--whose assets and activities span the globe--and expect to end up with fairness and justice. We need to bust TWO fascist forces in this country: the more obvious Bushite fascists, and the more subtle corporate fascists, whose creeping control over our government, over the last three decades is responsible for our powerlessness today, in the face the war profiteering corporate news monopolies, the DLC (bought and paid for) Democrats, corporate oil wars and the all the rest.

And I think that Diebold/ES&S is working for BOTH of these fascist forces--is putting a 5% to 10% "thumb on the scales" for Bushites, warmongers AND corporatists.

To break the power of these fascist forces we must first break the power of their RIGGED electronic voting system!

There is only one way they could have shoved this heinous, illegal, optional war down our throats, and torture, and a $10 TRILLION deficit, and multiple tax cuts for the super-rich, and Halliburton, and all the crap that we've seen--and THAT is by rigging the elections, even more than they were rigged before, with our filthy campaign contribution system, corporate lobbyists and all of them in hock to corporate TV for campaign ads. They needed DIRECT control of the vote counting to do these things. And now they've got it.

And what this means is that, EVEN IF the Democrats win in November, we're not going to see any dramatic change or reform. We are going to see a fallback to CORPORATISM, with no big undoing of all that has taken place. You know this. I know this. We all know this. And Diebold/ES&S is WHY. They have been controlling the political PRIMARIES as well as the general elections. They choose who is PERMITTED to run--in collusion with corporate news monopolies, who choose WHAT can be talked about in our political discourse. What SHOULD be talked about--the dismantling of these bad actor, predator corporations, and rescinding their right to live forever (and thus accumulate vast wealth and power)--NEVER gets talked about, and is considered so far "left" as to be off-the-chart communism. But it really ISN'T. It's just SENSIBLE. It's what any decent society should do at this point. (It doesn't mean ending capitalism. In fact it would be GOOD for trade, would encourage competition and innovation, and would re-invigorate the business sector--but the big corporations don't want you to know this. They are MONOPOLISTS, not business people. They thrive on power and control, not on trade--and the top 1% of the super-rich are just raking off all the profits and hoarding wealth, or maybe investing it in CHINA. Not here.)

Further, we are NOT out of the woods, even with a Democratic victory in the fall, as to a widened Mideast war. Too many Democrats have colluded on the war, and the war profiteers have had too much time to set up MORE war (for instance, a new "Gulf of Tonkin"-type incident, as excuse to bomb or invade Iran.)

We MUST get back public control of our elections--and restore transparent, verifiable vote counting--for any real reform to take place.

Hey, I can understand how some people can be offended by those of us poking fun at others because of their looks. Ordinarily it's not such a great thing. But when you figure WHO IT IS we're targeting, I think it's well-deserved. If they act like jerks, they're going to be treated like jerks. And hastert and all the rest of his fine feathered chickenhawk friends and collaborators are FAIR GAME. I think after the mess they've made of this country, our Constitution, our standing in the world, our self-respect, our sense of unity as a nation, the war, the looting of our treasury, the needless death and destruction, the hostility, fear, and anger they've provoked and exploited, I don't think there are ENOUGH insults to throw at them. There aren't enough insults in the combined brain-power of the entire population of Planet Earth to throw at these noxious "people." If they bring out the worst in us, well, it's high time they got some of that back - and preferably up the ass. Only fitting.

22. Exactly
Calling names in this kind of circumstance is no more or less than the old 'Yo' mama's so ugly ....' crap that we threw around in grammar school.

Its a release. In my view, to take offense at it is simply over reacting. Calling names to someone for the sole reason of their looks or other attributes is hateful, to be sure. If HasTurds were 140 lbs, he'd still be a bastard .... but a skinny bastard.

Is calling KindaSleazy 'Olive Oyl' wrong? That's **clearly a reference to her weight and her hair style.
