Clark supporters - More caucus guidance from the mother ship. Please read!
I know all of us realize the importance of tomorrow's caucus as it pertains to
the Democratic nomination. Our very republic depends upon this election and
who we nominate will determine the path of our nation and whether our future
holds hope or fear. If we as Democrats fail to take advantage of the gift that
is General Wes Clark and the ability to remove National Security from the
debate versus George W. Bush we are in big trouble. It is our responsiblity as
Democrats to ensure that fellow Democrats are aware of what we will have to
overcome if we nominate one of the other Democratic candidate. We must not
bash them as we are all in this together but we cannot allow this process to be
steered by the media or by a false sense of security given to us by them just
as some were misled by those who trumpted Dean as unbeatable.

Today at the caucus we must frame everything when comparing Clark to other
candidates as he is the candidate who can win all the states Gore won and can
win the states in the south needed to defeat Bush. You can't say that about
Kerry as we may lose states if Kerry wins the nomination as some will view him
in the same light as Al Gore and we will certainly not win the Southern states
we need.

Here are some points we must bring up as we will have to overcome them if they
somehow win the nomination :

Sen. John Edwards -
1. First term Senator who simply does not have the National Security or
Foreign
Policy credentials to defeat George W. Bush with an ongoing war on terror,
etc.
2. He is a former personal injury trial lawyer which Karl Rove will feast upon
as he frames Edwards as person who's career is based upon being an "ambulance
chaser".
3. He voted for almost everything his is campaigning against. He will be
running against Bush AND himself.

Sen. John Kerry -
1. In 19 years in the Senate he has only authored 8 bills and 5 of them were
ceremonial. That is not leadership.
2. He also voted for almost everything his campaigning against and his
platfrom
of being against the special interest of the country is in direct opposition to
the fact he leads all Senators in total lobbying money recieved. His career is
marred by saying one thing and doing another and nominating someone who voted
against the first Gulf War, for the second one and then opposed the $87 billion
for the troops is going to be an easy target for the Bush team.
3. It has been over 30 years since the Democrats have won the White House
without a southerner at the top of the ticket. We must connect with those
moderate southern voters to win this election and they simply will not vote for
a candidate who will portrayed as a Kennedy liberal elitists from Taxachusetts
who went to HS in Switzerland and doesn't share their values.

Gov. Howard Dean -
-He did a gret job bringing a disperate group of individuals to the party and
the democratic process but can he win in ther south?
-Encourage Dean voters to be undecided in the caucus and then after wisconsin
they can choose if the delegates can stay with Dean or go to Clark and win.
-His environmental policies have been attacked by native americans in his home
state (They have endorsed Gen. Clark!) and countless other environmental
organizations.
-Iowa is impossible to overcome.
-He took anti-anxiety drugs. Think of what Rove will do with Kerry and Botox
and
then multiply that by ten and you'll have what he will do to Dean.

Also consider that a Senator has not defeated an incumbent President in 116
years we must realize that neither Kerry nor Edwards are the best Senator the
US has elected in that time.

(I didn't write this; I'm just distributing it.)

1. Boy, I hate to see the "anti-anxiety drug" attack on Dean

I realize it could be fodder for right-wing smears, but it just angers me to see it happen to anyone. :grr:

A lot of the talking points here are a bit distasteful, but I can understand where they're coming from - politics isn't pretty, particularly when you're differentiating yourself from other candidates in a caucus situation.

But dammit - I am sick and tired of mental illness being treated like a character weakness and not a medical problem.

Edit: My anger is not directed at you Myra, but at the issue.

2. This is from the mothership?
There's one thing to have strategy, but to reveal the plans on a public forum?

Although the "game plans" can be distributed on a more "private" level.....poor choice of methods.

But, That's just my opinion.

4. Not from HQ
Most of this stuff is great but it would be better to be selective considering this is actually authored by our number one and most excellent volunteer (Alex of course) and not a product of the campaign. He was pointing out that Rove would love to bring these out and will.

Just checking in and...

He took anti-anxiety drugs.

:wtf:

This is, like, totally

Mothership huh? Must be the USS Reagan!

Sorry, but that's just cheap tripe. Myra, wherever that comes from... 'taint useful, and the General 'taint approved of this message either.

Edited to add:
If Rove feels like bringing it up - let him. We don't - period.
