"We want to bring Democracy to the Region"
they keep telling us.

What kind of a democracy? One where a government spies on its citizens? One where the government lies to the people's Representatives? One that funnels large sums of tax money to support the rich and the mighty, and the corrupt while ignoring the needs of its own? The one where small children are indoctrinated to kill for the name of "god?"

(Feel free to add more)

They already had it..
