So why were the Repukes all upset when they thought that Jessica Lynch
was tortured?

I mean, there was no evidence that she was tortured, just BS O'Reilly and the other shit-for-brains spouting about her mistreatment ... which consisted of treating her wounds and making sure she was alive and well, and sending someone out to the US troops to tell them that they had someone they wanted to return ...

1. I had forgotten about Jessica Lynch
but every time I hear "not follow the Geneva convention" I think of my brother at age 19 in Vietnam and it makes me insane.

I hope this lovely young woman is doing well now. With her honesty and integrity, she'll make a great teacher.

2. Real answer: Because they are hypocrites
and they don't give a damn about moral or intellectual consistency. They only want an excuse to cannonize one side and demonize the other.

4. That was before Iraqis knew what bastards we really are.
Now, they hate us and, now, more than ever, we need to adhere to the same standards that we expect them--and, for that matter, all of our future enemies--to observe. But don't even try to talk to a Repuke like he/she is possessed of common sense. In the Repuke's view, it's "do as I say, not as I do."

5. The "Rescue of Jessica Lynch" was a made for prime time coverup
and distraction for all the soldiers dying during the Battle for Baghdad.

She was not tortured. And - she can't remember anything.

6. just the messenger here, but she was a
"uniformed soldier that was STATE sponsored.". AS OPPOSED to a non uniformed and not from a state sponsored military i.e. random insurgent. But don't forget, this was a beefed up piece of PR. It didn't happen like it was projected.

8. But don't you remember - "the enemy doesn't follow the rules"
whether Geneva Convention, or humanity ... according to the Bushitters ...

And don't forget the outcry that went up over the pictures shown on TV of the three servicemen shot down during Gulf I - the outcry there was that they were "tortured" ... but it was later revealed that the "torture" they suffered was actually the wounds from the crash landing ...

And don't forget, too, how the Repukes howled (actually with glee) when three bodies of US forces were dragged naked through the streets ... I guess that's not really torture, since they were dead ... I guess that the outcry that the Repukes had then was misguided, too, right?

10. You believe this statement?
"And don't forget, too, how the Repukes howled (actually with glee) when three bodies of US forces were dragged naked through the streets ... I guess that's not really torture, since they were dead ... I guess that the outcry that the Repukes had then was misguided, too, right?"

I think everyone, YES REPUKES TOO, are sickend at what happend to those soldiers. I just don't see how this type of dialogue helps us win elections. It's overly emotional. This is exactly what they want. WHY- because the typical American is sickend by it. IF these are close races, we can't be talking that way and winning hearts. To change a mind you must first change a heart. (That's mine by the way :) )But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

11. On the surface, they were "sickened" - yet, beneath that PR,
they expected the three bodies being drug through the streets, played constantly on "liberal" CNN, to be the downfall of Bill Clinton ... and they made martyrs of those three ... plus, the Repukes received their "Cindy Sheehan" in the father of one of those three ... and you didn't hear the howls of the press when that man took out his anger at Clinton ...

7. uniformed vs un uniformed?
we have agents in countries that are undercover...like special ops..cia......covert agents.....spies in camps........out of uniform...........
does this mean when they are found out and captured they can be imprisoned in foreign countries forever and tortured beyond reason now.....that other countries do not have to follow the Geneva convention rules and can interrupt them their own way.........seeing our own "special people are out of uniform?
