Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 05:56 PM by Terwilliger
Looking for, I guess, ideological separations between the Pres and his VEEP choice

14. Vice President Dennis Kucinich
If it's still possible in America to achieve some sort of parity for the working man and woman, if it's still possible to wrestle the power of the public purse from the corporate interests who have stolen it, if it's still possible for the pension funds and the other public wealth that has been stolen to be returned to the working class people that it was stolen from, if it's possible to restore the public schools, the public health system, a decent basic working wage, a public insurance system, so that the ordinary American worker gains some benefit from the richest society in the world that he and she works to create - if there's one man who has the vision, guts, imagination and experience to take on this enormous task, it's Dennis Kucinich.

KERRY / KUCINICH IN '04

45. I think Max Cleland will be on the short list.
Think about it.

The southern, veteran and disability vote, endorsed Kerry early, helluva speaker, especially in his wheelchair. Wronged in slimiest race in Georgia in a long time, impugning Max's patriotism. That story alone will make southerners gravitate toward him.

First Disabled VP candidate with an incredible comeback story. War hero who is an anti-nuclear weapons and chemical weapons crusader.

The media will be bowled over every time they interview him in his wheelchair and he will run rings around Cheney and he was a member of the 9-11 Commission.

Former head of the Veteran's Administration!

4. Kerry/Skinner '04!
Skinner would kill Cheney in a debate. If Skinner declares himself as Veep candidate, then he's going to be Veep.

11. I voted for Zell.
We've got to stop pandering to angry, liberal elitists. Choosing Zell, even though he has already endorsed Bush, would send a message the Kerry is a nice, safe, candidate who will stay the course of the last 20 years. Tax cuts for the wealthy, benefit cuts for the poor, overseas outsourcing, unlimited immigration, union-bashing, etc.

didn't Clark say he didn't want to be a VEEP?

I put up Carol Moseley-Braun as a choice, but since no one voted for her, I replaced the choice with Wesley Clark.

41. ELECTABILITY rules the day.
That word shaped from clay and rammed down our throats by the media. In that light, a Zell Miller vice presidential candidate would make the most sense because it would bring in otherwise elusive votes, no?

It's all about electability!

48. Bill Richardson would be a great vp nominee.
Governor Richardson could help win New Mexico, help with the Latino vote in mutliple states, and he has foreign policy experience.

What more could you ask for in a vp?

50. Richardson has the most experience of anyone
He has congressional experience which is can help him negotiate with congress. He has foreign experience as well when he was UN ambassador and he has executive experience as governor and Secretary of Energy. Virtually nobody has such a diverse amount of experience.

51. Richardson would be good.
I suspect the next VP will be spending lots of time on international image repair. He balances geographically. Energy still the most important longterm priority for the US.

A real solid choice, I think.
