12. he has always liked kerry BUT
who imus encorses is a running schtick on his show. like this morning, chuck was razzing him about endorsing kerry and imas said 'for now'. he'll switch a half dozen times before election day.... his lack of loyalty to politicans and sports teams is a running gag on his show.

26. exactly
who gives a fig what Imus says. His 'for now' endorsement, is even more reason to go looking seriously at the other candidates.

Folks, the media is trying to shove Kerry down our throats. Makes me wanna :puke:

6. Well, today
he was snorting at "some of the decisions that have been made the past couple years." Disgruntled, disillusioned. Yesterday he had the author of "John Kerry and the Vietnam War" (David Brinkley, historian, author) on the line and sounded pretty enthusiastic (for Imus) about Kerry. Said he really likes the guy. ???

10. Like all good rats, Imus knows when to jump ship
Say what you want about the I-man (and I don't have anything nice) but he does have his finger on the pulse of America. Which is odd considering he barely has one.

Plus part of his act is to push the boundaries, he has a build in contrarian attitude which has been on hold in the recent years.

Plus he always struck me as an open minded individual. I was surprised when he turned to the dark side after Clinton got elected. I stopped listening after that.

13. He also brought about 500,000 votes to Clinton in 92.
He made white male voters comfortable voting for him.

THAT is the power behind Imus' show. White male voters.

11. Never ever forget how Imus TRASHED Clinton
I don't remember the year, but Imus was the main speaker at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and he absolutely trashed Clinton. It was an unforgivably embarrassing moment. Hillary was there, sitting next to Elizabeth Somethingorother from NPR and Elizabeth whispered to Hillary "If you want to walk out, I'll go with you." But Hillary stayed and endured the lewd and mean-spirited comments of Imus. The next day all the news was about this unbelievable moment of "lese majeste."

I had never liked Imus very much, but after that moment I absolutely loathe him.

So if he endorses Kerry, I say "Watch your back, John."

14. Kerry will
Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 09:44 AM by justsam
get more publicity and praise from Imus than any net work and Imus is telling it like it is with the non exsistence WOD and the lies, polititions won't even admit that we were lied to. yesterday morning Imus said his wife was a die hard Repub but she has changed her mind, voting for Kerry

I'm not an Imus fan at all, but will liston to anyone that will tell the truth about Tenet and the Bush adminastration

but I'm willing to bet he's endorsing him because he knows that Bush will Dukakasize him in the GE...also, Kerry is as much of an elitist snob as Imus is, so they are kindred spirits...Imus is NOT on our (Democratic)side!

20. Imus has his wet finger in the wind
Plus he has always kind of liked Kerry. I guess this is good news but I wouldn't make too much of it. Imus is notorious for making bad predictions, whether political or sports related.

22. He also said recently
that he would never vote Democratic. Is he having trouble remembering his musings from one week to the next?

But I think his Repub wife is a friend of Teresa's.

gave him a hard time. I also heard on his show that he supported Kerry during his last Senate run.

what he has to say about Kerry after he actually gets the nomination (if he actually does). I'm quite sceptical of anything he has to say up until that point.

28. Imus has liked Kerry for years
A few months ago when Kerry was treading water, Imus criticized him and had lost faith. But he's come back.

Cut Imus some slack. He is not a right-wing hack. Barring any really stupid moves by Kerry, I think Imus will stick with him.
