Teresa Heinz Kerry wants Edwards for VP

Given all that, it should come as no surprise that the Kerry camp is rumored to be laying the groundwork for a partnership with Edwards, even as they maintain a public line that they're still in a fight for the nomination and are "taking nothing for granted." Kerry's wife, Teresa, and stepson Chris have already talked privately about their preference for Edwards, according to one Kerry ally who discussed it with them, and Teresa has a particular affinity for Edwards' wife, Elizabeth. In addition, talk from the Kerry camp about Edwards is almost invariably positive, stressing the personal relationship between the senators and their compatibility on the issues.

Graham can be Kerry's LBJ(win Florida for him as vp), and Edwards can be his Bobby Kennedy(his AG). He even has the same haircut

But he can't win any of the states he's ever lived in for Kerry(NC, SC, GA, TN) and he wouldn't be enough to win him Florida. WE NEED to be competative in Florida.

Really, we shouldn't be nominated Kerry because of his regional limitations, but if we do, it's insane to just forget about 27 electoral votes that we rightfully won in the last election

We need the populism, the down to earth connection, that wonderful family. He's the perfect choice and I'd be surprised if JK chose anybody except Edwards or maybe Richardson.

11. I personally feel this is the best combination

Kerry/Edwards. I think Edwards may do better in the south than we're giving him credit for (as a VP). Also, many people that I discuss politics with feel the same way. My best friend's mom, a Republican, has just told him she will NOT vote for Bush. She said that a lot of people are "not happy with him." She lives in Rhode Island (we live in California)and is very typically the "average American." She likes Kerry and Edwards. I have another friend who's father is a Republican and he's not voting for Bush either (Minnesota). He's retired military. He said that if Bush had been given "false information regarding Iraq" he should have gotten rid of all involved immediately. He told my friend,his son, "I don't know what I'm going to do, I guess I'll have to vote Democrat, and I do have a lot of respect for Kerry."

was that the Veep be qualified to take over Presidency immediately.

I don't think Edwards meets this qualification, based on his lack of foreign policy & national security experience.

Dan Quayle had 2 terms in Congress & was in his 2nd term in the Senate when he was selected as a running mate for Bush Sr. He was also an expert on weapons systems.

Now before Edwards supporters jump on me for comparing Edwards to Quayle, there are certain similarities. Both, much younger looking than their age, both extremely good looking, etc.

I think Edwards has a gravitas problem. He is excellent on domestic policy, but imo he would have problems debating Dick Cheney on foreign policy & national security.

I am not doubting Edwards as Veep because I am a Clark supporter.

If Clark is not at the top of the ticket, I hope he goes home to Arkansas & enjoys the rest of his life.

I don't think he would make a very good #2 for anyone.
