George Clinton under Thomas Jefferson and James Madison

3. Nope...
The overwhelming opinion by experts is that he cannot. The constitution bars election to the Vice Presidency anyone that may be barred from being elected President. There is some thought that there may be wiggle room in this clause, but the clear intent of the COngress in passing the 22nd Amendment was to prevent a person from serving more than two terms, and it is highly likely the courts would interpret it this way!

9. No...
As long as they did not serve a term as President, they can be Veep as many times as they can get elected. Term limits applies to Presidents.

10. WOW! someone agrees with me!
We have had this debate ad nauseum and I am the only one on your side. SCOTUS (it would be challenged) would never allow it. The spirit of the 12th & 22nd would prevent it. They are written badly, for mis-interpretation and wiggle room. BIG Dog is making TO MUCH money, he would never do it anyway.

7. to add to SaveElmer's response...
It's the last sentence of the twelfth amendment that prevents that:

But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.
