GOP Fundraising Outpaces Democrats (media spin)

GOP Fundraising Outpaces Democrats

By PHILIP ELLIOTT, The Associated Press

Current rank: Not ranked

WASHINGTON - Republicans trying to hold onto the House raised $12.5 million in July, outpacing Democrats by a 3-to-1 margin but leaving the GOP just $1 million ahead in cash on hand.

The influx of money - largely from political action committees - gives Republicans a slight advantage more than two months before the November elections. Democrats hope to gain 15 seats to seize control of the House.

The NRCC has raised $70 million so far and has $34.1 million in the bank. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $4.2 million in July, taking the group's total to $81 million this cycle and $33 million cash on hand.

In the Senate, the Democrats' campaign organization enjoys a $14.5 million advantage in cash on hand. The party needs to gain six seats to win majority control.

The DSCC raised $4.2 million during July, outpacing its GOP counterpart's $3.3 million. It also raised $77.2 million so far this cycle and has $35.1 million in the bank.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has raised $65.9 million this cycle and has $20.6 million on hand.

Senate Dems Outraise GOP – Again

August 21, 2006
By: Phil Singer, DSCC

In July, the DSCC raised almost $1 million more than the NRSC

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) brought in $4.2 million for the month of July, again outraising its GOP counterpart. The DSCC has raised $77.2 million for the 2006 campaign cycle and has $35.1 million in the bank. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) raised just $3.3 million in July, bringing its total for the 2006 cycle to just $65.9 million. It has $20.6 million in the bank.

“Democrats are winning the fundraising race because Americans understand that we have the ideas to move the country in a new direction,” DSCC Chairman Chuck Schumer said. “People who are sick of the status quo and want change are looking to the Democrats.”

The DSCC’s fundraising prowess has laid a solid financial foundation for Democratic Senate candidates, helping to ensure that they will have the resources necessary to win in November. “We’ve run the DSCC like a business and marshaled our resources to ensure that we are able get our message out to the voters,” Schumer said.

Democrats have been pushing the “New Direction” agenda all summer, focusing on six central goals aimed at helping average people: Strengthening national security, improving jobs and wages, energy independence and lower gas prices, affordable health care and life-saving science, retirement security and college access for all.

So the DSCC outpaced the NRSC, the DCCC has more money than the NRCC, but the media titles the article "GOP Fundraising Outpaces Democrats." MSM BS!

4. Well, THIS Ought To Make Some Democrats MAD!!!
If they only see this, perhaps some will dig deeper. Who knows??

With MSM I wonder if WE ever get truth anymore!!! I was surprised to see how "Tweety" acted about the War In Iraq last week, basically calling on those generals who opposed the war and doing almost his whole show about their thoughts. A surprise for sure... wish it would keep going this way.

The Royal Idiot is such a LIAR and even when called one simply ignores it all! In my whole life I don't think I've ever disliked so many politicians at one time!
