What could happen if you don't vote for the nominee in November
-The ban on anti-AIDS funding going to any international organization that promotes birth control or abortion will continue. AIDS will spread, and millions will die as a result.
-Possibly more war will occur. Many more American soldiers, as well as civilians will die.
-New Supreme Court apointees could overturn Roe vs. Wade. Sever restrictions on abortion will follow, and thousands of women will die in backalleys.
-The war on the poor will continue. If gas prices go up as much as some estimates say, many people will not be able to afford heating. Many will die as a result.
-The number of families that can't afford health insurance will increase. Many people and children will die due to not being able to afford treatment.

But no, you have to make a statement. :eyes:

2. I will wrestle my conscience to the ground, if need be
But the greater good in times of peril sometimes requires distasteful compromises.

The only way I will be able to forgive myself, if my chosen candidate is not the nominee, is with the solace that Planet Earth really doesn't give a rat's patooie; she just wants to be protected.

4. I could just as easily say that all of that will happen...
...if you do not vote for Dean in the primary.

the fact of these turning out the other way round depends on the candidate.

9. Nothing will happen!
Indiana will go Republican even if I were to vote half a million times for the Democratic nominee.

10. Even if I vote for the nominee...
Bush will win because none of the democrats have a backbone except for Dean.

11. ...and if you don't want any of that to happen.
You will vote for Dean to get him nominated. Because only Dean has the backbone to stand-up for what is right even when it isn't popular.

12. All these will happen anyway
for two reasons

1) the election will undoubtedly be rigged so that the rethugs will win.

2) our need for oil will exceed the availability of it without any viable energy sources to fall back upon unless you consider a large part of the human species dying off from hunger and cold a good thing.
