A Las Vegas web developer was at the center of a mini-scandal in the last hours of last week's high-profile Democratic U.S. Senate primary in Connecticut.
Dan Geary, the developer of Sen. Joe Lieberman's Web site, www.Joe2006.com, on Tuesday came under fire from feisty anti-Lieberman bloggers after he blamed the Web site's crash on a hacker attack, possibly on the part of allies of Lieberman opponent Ned Lamont.
Lieberman, the Democrats' 2000 vice presidential nominee, lost Tuesday's primary after Lamont, a businessman, attacked his ongoing support for the Iraq war. Lamont's campaign largely was fueled by the "net roots" of anti-war online activists.
After the Lieberman site went down, Lieberman lashed out at Lamont and his supporters, calling on them to "cease and desist."
