1. He was a great fundraiser, a so-so campaign manager.
I don't "love" him OR feel he was a "whore". He was good at some things, not so good at others....just like, well....everybody else.

2. Deserves credit...
he revolutionized campaigning, brought some energy (and funds) (and attention) to Democratic politics, and should get credit for that. I think he and Dean shaped the race for the better.

4. I think he's a con man now
Looking at his previous campaigns, his ticket stunt, and taking - what - two million dollars from everyone's hard earned donations? Funneling money into his own media company, with his business partner as Dean's media manager?

Was Dean really that stupid? Is Dean really that egotistical? Where the hell were the Dean voters? Did they even exist?

I've never been a fan of Dean but I always praised his organization and I thought Trippi must be some kind of genius. But then on election day, nada.

And Trippi walks away with millions? Fool me once...

5. Trippi gave one of my friend's the greatest compliment he recieved
until I topped it when he put together the biggest and best of the college rallies last year so I like him for that but if he was only good for helping start up the campaign but not good at keeping the ball rolling then I do not like him.
And I am sorry if that is confusing.

6. Typical politico sleaze
I thought his crying interview with Norville was phony and over the top.

8. Well it's said that he's an emotional person that cries often, so I didn't
have a problem with it. I think it was a real reaction.

7. Trippi forgot that a potty mouth is not professional
It really turns people off. Having read the interview about robocalling being blamed on Kerry's camp (not that I agree or disagree), but his use of the F word about 20 times in one paragraph was a bit much.

I understand he was this way all the time. It hurt Dean's image as a cleancut guy.

Trippi was a great fundraiser, but he also pushed the anti-war issue too strongly. He should have focused more on Dean's appeal as a family man and someone with courage to face all issues head on.

Just my two cents.

10. A man of obvious talents as well as limitations. Like anyone else, really.
I just can't see the simplistic formulations on Trippi. I don't know if anyone else would have done better getting Dean out front so effectively or have utilized the internet and the anger so brilliantly. When Dean dove in the polls, it was generally the result of things Dean said and chose to do. Hard to give Trippi full blame here, but obviously when things need shaking up you can the staff, not the candidate. He shouldn't've spent the $40 mil ($40 mil!!) so fast, but the boss must've signed off on that deal, too, y'know. Trippi showed class by continuing to support Dean after the firing. The man is neither a villain nor a whore. He's a pol. He's an op. We'll hear from him in the future.

12. Trippi is an entrepreneur. He is now famous for raising
awareness and for TEACHING.

When the Dean campaign went full blown national, however, he may have been a little too idealistic. Certain things got down and dirty on a very large scale. That wasn't his fault and wasn't his field. His strength lies in his genius for getting a campaign off of the ground to a fantastic degree. I adore him for that and hope he is still involved as much as he can be with the Dean campaign.

He is without a doubt a master of his art, and if I ever get to meet him, I will be tempted to give him a loud kiss on his cheek!

ahhs from the pit crew. Then the wheels fell off out on the track...
