Issues we can win conservatives on without compromising
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 07:22 PM by corporatewhore
People say we need to pander to conservatives and compromise. Some go as far as to compromise on equal rights for all people :grr: but we dont Conservatives are pissed at bush too.
The issues are:
The Patriot Act- No self respecting small govtment promoting Big Federal Government loathing Conservative likes it.I worked with several conservatives to get an anti patriot act resolution in austin
Free Trade:Conservatives have lost jobs too! They also are likely to Buy American and believe it or not they boycott WalMart too! They see free trade deals as "open border policy"
Bush's crazy spending:rember mccains daily show interview spending like a drunken sailor
Bush's Lack of intelligenge: pun intended but what does this say about mr.Security
Bush not supporting the vets

5. Senior citizen concerns
include the Medicare prescription law, which they realize is a rip-off. I've heard seniors of every political stripe say they hate it.

Another thing is the deficit. Republicans hate it and the burgeoning size of government.

7. As a republican I say...
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 07:46 PM by HFishbine
Go ahead and emasculate the fourth and fourteenth amendments of the Constitution.

Go ahead and send my job overseas.

Go ahead and run up a phenomenal debt for future generations.

Go ahead and cut vets off health care.

Just please, please, please don't let my faggot uncle Bob and his librarian friend get married.

(This post is intended only to be insulting to republicans and democrats who are too afraid to stand on long-held principles. Any slight of vets, gays, librarians, uncles or feminist grammarrions was in the spriit of effective sarcasm.)
