Florida May Play Vital Role In Race For White House
Edwards Focuses On South

UPDATED: 12:13 PM EST February 5, 2004

ORLANDO, Fla. -- It looks like Florida will again be a key state in the race for the White House, no matter what happens in the primaries over the next month.

Looking beyond the next three primary and caucus states, all of them in the North, John Edwards (pictured, left) is spending most of his time extending his Southern roots in Virginia and Tennessee, preparing for elections there next week, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.

The North Carolina senator is getting a lot of help and new cash from people like famous defense attorney Roy Black.

"When you have two people running, it's easier to make a choice, and I think John is a superior candidate. I think in November he can beat Bush," Black said.

There is one big factor that could hurt Edwards. He's agreed to receive federal matching funds, which means he's limited in the amount of campaign money he can raise. Kerry and Dean have declined federal matching funds and can raise as much as they like.

3. The same Roy Black
that is defending Limbaugh? Yep that's him all right.
Why do republicans always hire Democratic attorneys when they get in trouble? But at the same time knock them for being trial lawyers?
Hypocrisy comes in many stripes.
