My little brother stood on stage with Howard Dean
Last Saturday, my little brother and I went to a Dean rally here in Tucson, and somehow, he got up onstage before the show and stood behind Dean the whole time. He was in between Congressman Raul Grijalva and General Joseph Hoare. Later on he got to shake Dean's hand. He was pretty excited. My brother is going into the Marines and had a Marine sweatshirt on and Dean said: " I appreciate what you are doing for our country." Good stuff.

Dean was damn good. This is the second time I've heard him speak. Howard almost convinces me to vote for him, sometimes, but I still ended up sticking to my Kucinich principles. Dean is a good man, that's for sure. His crowds are the best! He's like a rock star. He took some shots at Kerry and then did so the next morning on Meet The Press. He's an impressive man.

1. Very cool for him. I was supposed to be on stage with Dean.. but..
That's really a great honor. I hope he got a photo of that moment.

I was hoping to be onstage with Howard Dean. But.. I was a volunteer at a Dean event, which shall remain nameless, at which all the volunteers were to stand behind Dean at the event. The volunteers were then asked one by one to be on stage, I was not included. Why? Because I'm a blue-eyed blonde, 40-something, latte drinking, SUV driving type. Seriously. I was told that they wanted a "cross section of America" to stand up there.. I was the only volunteer that looked the way I looked, and the only volunteer not asked to stand on stage behind Dean. I guess blondes are not representative of America. I'm not holding it against Dean for that.. but rather the clumsy moves of inexperienced campaign staffers of my state. It's stuff like that reek of a amateur political employee.

I didn't even stay to hear him speak. I figured if I wasn't enough of an American to be seen with Dean, then why am I American enough to fill the auditorium or be hidden behind a curtain to make crowd noise for the organizers?

3. I decided not to be petty about it, and blame Dean.
But.. it was kinda painful, after all I've done to support Dean. I say you're only as good as your campaign staff. Hopefully, that will not be the final chapter on Howard Dean's candidacy.. staff problems.
