Gary Trudeau's "Doonesbury" was named after Gary's St. Paul's roommate, who was from the Pillsbury family (yes it's THAT Pillsbury - like the dough boy). The roommate was nicknamed "Doones" and the Doonesbury is essentially the name of Gary's roommate.

I don't know if JK and GT were at SPS at the same time or now.
