Every potential and existent life form must be protected at all costs
And the democrats should pass a bill that had such language to make the Republican position look that more absurd. It would include language that stated that all excess embryos collected for in vitro purposes must be guaranteed to be kept in a frozen state for infinity. That means that back up plans would have to be in place for catastrophies and power outages. Any company that is caught discarding unused embryos or unable to keep them in a perpetual frozen state forever would face stiff penalties.

The bill should also include fines and prison time for multiple offenders for life wasting. Anyone caught masturbating or admitting to the act would be prosecuted unless they could prove that the sperm was collected and placed in a continuos frozen state. Other offenders would include women that did not engage in sex between the 12-16 day of her menstrual cycle. Exemptions would be made for women out of wedlock of course.

Anyone associated with the use of the morning after pill or plan B would be in violation of this law. That includes researchers, pharmacists, doctors, pharmaceutical companies and the patients themselves.

Finally, any deaths related to the invasion or bombing of a country that poses no significant threat would be considered illegal.

1. IT cost's quite a bit to maintain those embryos!
That's something else that rarely gets discussed. The donors have to pay a monthly fee for the clinic to keep their frozen embryos. I did see the fee once, but I can't recall it well enough to post it here today.

That's another reason why many couples, when they reach the family size they desire opt to destroy the remaining frozen eggs.

3. good point, so the bill should read that once the parents of the
embryo die, the costs to keep the embryo frozen for infinity must be passed on to the next generation and so on.

13. Well, here's ONE price structure!
Pricing for additional procedures:

Blastocyst culture and transfer (day 5 transfer) - no additional charge
Sperm freezing - $100
Embryo freezing - $600 (includes 1 year of storage)
Embryo storage - $500/year

http://www.advancedfertility.com/ivfprice.htm

Do you think the Feds or the Fundies are ready for $500 a year for each donor?

20. I've got a better idea for all you guys out there.
So as not to waste the "life potential" of your seed, freeze the excess and send it to the divine one at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. to be held in the White House Sub-Zero for all of eternity. (You have to admit, gallons of the stuff arriving would be pretty funny.)

2. Sorry.
But that last line is just too controversial and difficult for this bill to fly.

>>Finally, any deaths related to the invasion or bombing of a country that poses no significant threat would be considered illegal. <<

That would fatally restrict Presidential power. Can't let that happen, now can we? :sarcasm:

6. Which is why the bill would be so great to expose their hypocrisy
There's very little else in there that I can see that they could be opposed to, so they would have no choice but to admit that the only reason they're not voting for it is it restricts their ability to drop bombs on innocent people.

9. Yeah and I didn't even go into the whole death penalty thing.
Their usual argument there is that the law of the land prevails or that those lives are not worth protecting. Weak but effective.

5. Yes and let's not forget
that scratching kills off skin cells and no one can shower because
of exfoliation, and no more insecticide or rat poison...

The list is endless :)

Let's be realistic here ;)

17. Yes, it can combined with an egg to get the right number of
chromosomes together for fertilization. Dead skin cells are an abomination!

And no reason why men can't have embryos implanted on their colons. That's feasible. Of course, they run the risk of exploding their colons, but it can work. Every human is a baby factory!

homicides.

The discharge must be maintained at the local Sheriff's office until a coronor can examine it and make absolutely certain that nothing that the mother did, in any way, contributed to the miscarriage.

If there is any doubt, then she must be tried for homocide and must prove her innocence. If she's found guilty of endangering the zygote in any way, she gets mandatory death.

12. Also, the killing of offenders is considered justifiable homicide because
lives are being saved. Therefore the shooting of an abortion doctor or masturbator would be OK under this law.

14. And ectopic pregnancies which result in the death of the woman
would be considered just punishment for the woman having an "abortive" pregnancy.

I think I'm going to be sick.

16. You forgot about outlawing celibacy for nuns and priests.
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 04:13 PM by valerief
Or is that protected by faith-based bullcrap provisions? People out of wedlock shouldn't be exempted. In fact, wedlock should be protected further with this bill. Divorce should be outlawed. Unmarriedness should be outlawed. All marriage, all sex, all childbirth, all day.

Oops, no time to shop!

18. Yes, definitely an exemption for celibacy but priests that molested
little boys would be prosecuted for sperm wasting. We would look the other way as always on the molestation charge. We don't want to make the church look bad.

21. I agree.
Being unmarried is probably proof that you intentionally mean to not be a parent. Unmarried people should not get away with wasting sperm or eggs!

19. Farm animals should be used as surrogates for human
embryos! Oh, yes, we could have farms and farms of sheep giving birth to little baby Hitler Bushes, I mean, patriots. Cannon fodder could be churned out at alarming rates. Brings tears to m' eyes.
