But of course, they are a toothless, rotten bunch of multimillionaire bastards who think of nothing and no one other than themselves and their corporate sponsors.

1. They need 67 votes to override the veto. The bill passed with 63.
What do you propose?

7. It is not about balls. It is a setup. Some GOP voted for the bill so
that Bush could veto it and show HE has balls.

3. about balls
13 Senators and several dozen Representatives lack balls, and most of them will vote to override.

Just sayin.

5. I think the whole thing is a setup...Just under the number to have it
veto proof..it just may to a rove trick for the repugs to distant them selves from bush..so they fixed it so bush could veto it...when 70% of the people want this and 30% don't..

8. I agree. They allowed the bill to come to the floor so that Bush could
veto.

9. The promise of this research is FOR the 70% who need medical
attention of one kind or another. If the 30% want to rely on Jesus, have at it. This whole thing is so wrongheaded its mind boggling. The veto is wrong, as wrong as any other "sins" such as lying, cheating or stealing.
