Canadian activist shunned by CBS for her views on George Bush

Ottawa - Maude Barlow, known internationally for her work on the right to water, was recently informed that she would not be interviewed by CBS News due to her criticisms of the Bush administration. “This is a clear offense of free speech,” says Barlow. “Viewers should be concerned by the network’s decision to prevent critical views from being heard.”

We should be enraged that in a so-called democratic society, the media refuses to put its best foot forward for the common good. Of course, this is only one example of how poorly our press is serving us--and at a time when we need to be exposed to all sides of every critical issue facing us. It's sad that the Maude Barlows of this world are having such a tough time trying to help change a wide variety of agendas so that the masses will prevail over the elite few of rich and powerful people.

Love your avatar by the way. What a bloody shame Gore is not representing the U.S. as head honcho. He'd damn well command the respect of world leaders. What drives me crazy is that the U.S. has some of the brightest, honest, well educated people in the world today.
