Does the Ralph Reed outcome tell us anything about Lamont/Lieberman?
I've been doubting Lamont's chances but tonight's Georgia primary makes me rethink a little bit. The passion tonight was all against Ralph Reed, and that will be the case in Connecticut, working against Lieberman. Polls never hinted at anything like the margin we're seeing tonight, Reed buried by double digits. And it's a similar timetable with a summer primary, just three weeks away.

I wonder if the polls will similarly miss the turnout advantage in favor of Lamont?

Different dynamic since hatred for Reed obviously inspired thousands of Democrats to switch over and vote against him, in Georgia's open primary system. 17. If you read the comments on that page, apparently a lot of Dems
DID cross over to defeat Reed. The paper is trying to determine to what extent Dems crossed over to vote Repub and have invited the crossover voters to declare themselves.

It is a sin that all these Democrats voted in the Republican Party primary today. They will burn in hell—these “godless” people called Democrats.

10. Yeah, I saw that one
It was high on the list when I found that link. Overall the comments are great, including many people who said it was the first and only time they will ever vote for a Republican.

Trust me, the man has a very good chance of winning the August 8th primary!

Stuck in Las Vegas this summer. Normally I visit relatives in Norwich then head to Saratoga. My dad was born in Waterbury.

Good luck on August 8 :)

22. My relatives live in Preston
And one of them works surveillance at Mohegan Sun. That's an impressive casino and smack on the water. Here, the only water is Steve Wynn's phony lakes and pirate ships. I crack up when the tourists think it's amazing.

8th. I'll be in the wilds of Door County, Wisconsin. But I'm voting absentee ballot.

We get limited TV reception up there (no dish). I'm not going to be able to stand it. I'll have to call a friend in CT to get filled in on the night of the 8th.

And it just so happens I'll be in Rome on the eve of Nov. 7th. I doubt if the international U.S. paper will carry the election returns but it might.

13. not at all
Cagle may look good next to Reed, but Cagle is a Republican through and through. The Georgia GOP was concerned Reed would pull the entire party down so they actually sent a letter asking voters to not to vote for him.

19. Cagle is the worst kind of Republican in a slick, good old boy package.
As a state senator, he, along with fundy Ralph Hudgins and AG Comm. candidate Kemp, was behind the recent split of my blue liberal city into 2 Republican state senate districts.

Cagle is more dangerous to GA Democracy than Reed because the business and moderate Republicans will vote for him.

Whether someone takes a stab on the GOP contracts on Tradesports at a cheap price. I didn't look at how many were available or at what number.

And yes, I know that Lieberman is not popular with folks here at DU, but most surveys have Lieberman's popularity at 55-60%

and that was before he announced he was hedging his bets.
