I've seen something similar at self-defense courses. He takes his hands off of her very quickly, but it really seems as though she was initiating a break maneuver. I don't think it's possible to be the Chancellor of Germany (or a similar position in any country) without having been given at least a quick course in self-defense on the off-chance that your personal security forces fail.

4. I don't know why that's being called a backrub.

He grabbed her and gave one hard squeeze. Hardly breaking stride. He doesn't even look at her--before, during or after. He doesn't acknowledge her in any way. It looks to me like a gesture of dominance and contempt. I've been seeing this all day and I still can't get over it. It's not cute, it's not affectionate, it's not anything that will surely be said about it to laugh it off (like in one blog's comment section--"we're Texans, we're touchy-feely people". Yeah, right).

This man is out of control. He revels in his boorish behavior and being able to get away with it. I just can't believe that no one will say publicly that this is not right behavior for a president. I just can't believe it.

11. I really, really, agree with you on that. You know, when I see...

...pictures of the way Putin looks at Bush when they meet, there's this little tiny smile he wears the moment that Bush starts to speak. It's the smile of an extremely intelligent person (I detest Putin but it's undeniably he's both very intelligent and cunning) who knows that his adversary is, quite literally, an uneducated, willfully-ignorant fool.

  From the standpoint of Putin and all our adversaries, this has got to be a golden age of The American Nadir.

  It's like rape, for everyone one reported X go unreported. I did not believe that my level of fear at Bush's stupidity could grow but after his, and I'm being charitable here in the extreme, brutishly imposing unwelcome physical contact I have A) Not only realized that there is even more disgust within me for Bush than I imagined B) That these sorts of things may just actually compose "clues" that Bush, should an even-more-serious crisis arise, may literally do something right out of Dr. Strangelove.

  I have one of the best-looking asses in my town. My girlfriend loves it, I catch women staring at me as I pass by. It is because for the last six years that motherfucker has had me at a near-constant sphincter-clench factor of 11 since he started.

  I guess there's always an upside... :D

someone as they walk by or slapping someone hard upside the head to get laughs. It is very strange. It looked like it hurt. I wish the response of the other people could have been seen after the event.
